Tehachapi’s own Gary Mazzola will be bringing his Friends to perform at Fiddlers Crossing Saturday, December 1. Mazzola has made a name for himself in the arts community here as an actor, director, singer, songwriter, pianist, guitarist, and videographer. Since his fourth CD was released last July, Mazzola has been collaborating with writer Mark Fisher on a musical set in the northern California gold country. He has debuted some of the songs to great acclaim at Fiddlers Crossing Open Mics on Wednesday night.

The December 1 concert will include songs from Mazzola’s CDs, as well as a few from the musical. Joining him will be long-time musical friends Jerry Mulkins (lead guitar), John Kamplain (bass), Ken Leiboff (harmonica), and Greg Hahn (electronic drums).

Mazzola has also produced several music videos, including “Building Peace”, “Train Keeps Rollin' By” (a song about Tehachapi), “Find your River”, “Ghosts of my Ancestors,” “Days of the 99,” and the title track from his latest CD, “Grateful am i.” (These can be found at www.garymazzola.com.)

Fiddlers Crossing is at 206 East F Street at Robinson Street, in Downtown Tehachapi. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased next door at Mountain Music, or at The Apple Shed. For credit card purchases, call 823-9994 and add $1 per ticket. As always, coffee and goodies are included. The concert begins at 7 p.m., and doors will open at 6:30p.m.
