LOVELEE - Functional Art by Sara Nafus

The Empty Space Gallery proudly presents...

LOVELEE ~ Functional art by Sara Nafus

All of the art created are items that have been "up-cycled" and given new life. Materials used by the artist include wooden furniture, doors, jars, pots, jewelry, scrap wood, yarn, and a variety of paper and fabric.

The artist reception is 2-5pm Saturday, February 4, 2012. Meet the artist and enjoy refreshments.

The exhibit runs February 3 – 29, 2012, and is available for viewing before any regularly scheduled performance.

To schedule a private viewing, please email the gallery director Jesus Fidel at jfidel@rocketmail.com

In honor of the artist’s mother, Lee Nafus, Houchin Blood Bank will be on site accepting donations during the reception.

A note from the artist:

"I have incorporated my mom, Lee Nafus, in this exhibit because I would love so much to give her credit. I believe that the way I look at the world and the way that I make my art has everything to do with the heart that she has given me.

My mom passed away in 2006 from a brain aneurysm. Before she left us, she was given the aid of four blood transfusions. It is because of this that I greatly appreciate those who donate blood. I ask, if at all possible, that you give blood in honor of all the beautiful hearts out there, and especially that of Lee Nafus.
