OK, So here's a short version of my story:
I have been a Mary Kay rep for years. I use the word "rep" very loosley since I don't ever host parties, I don't promote myself AND I rarely take orders. I just order my product at a discount. Well times are tough my friends so I decided that I couldn't afford Mary Kay anymore. So I quit placing orders and started buying over the counter stuff.
I kept switching product because I couldn't find a good FULL COVERAGE FOUNDATION. I complained about this to anybody that would listen and a few offered suggestions.
One of them being MAC makeup. But buying MAC defeats my purpose because HELLOOOO I quit using Mary Kay because I couldn't afford it. BUT my BFF's swear by it and say it's BETTER than Mary Kay so I finally decided to take the plunge. While in Santa Barbara recently I walked into the MAC store, the makeup artist (and I use that term loosley because she matched me up with ORANGE based foundation.) picked my colors for me and I bought them.
It's not full coverage and I felt like the powder is really blotchy. Caked-on-feeling. I used it a few days and I hated it. So I went back to the L'Oreal I was using before. Which I am also not happy with because it's NOT full coverage.
ok so at dinner with my honeyboo the convo goes a little something like this:
HIM: babes, I don't like your new makeup. It makes your skin look all blotchy.
ME: Me either. But I'm NOT USING MY NEW MAKEUP. And my blotchy skin is all me. (which is why I need full coverage foundation)
*chirp.. chirp... it got so quiet after that you hear crickets... hahahahaha.. nice try in trying to make me feel better?
So... ummm... yeah? LOL I'm breaking down and placing a Mary Kay order. It's what works for my skin so why keep wasting money on what doesn't work?
Oh also, since giving up my Mary Kay makeup I have developed sun spots on my face. Not sure if it's correlated or coincidence? But does anybody know of any product that WORKS to remove sun/age spots?
Comments
I don't like the mineral stuff because it's for practically perfect skin. It's sheer protection. But wait.... I'm supposed to be using SPF80???? I only use SPF 15. Where do I buy the SPF80 at??
Well, the Clinique age spot stuff doesn't work, I need to take my bottle back to Macy*s and get a refund, I used the whole thing, just as I was told, even increased my face spf to 80 and I still have this darn spot. Prescription bleach works better - but honestly, if you are totally religious about it, it's not even worth it, and if you get it to go away, then forget your spf 80, it will come back.
I use Bare Minerals and swear by it, but it's not for everyone - some people it gets clumpy on, but I think they are just using too much, you have to learn that a little goes a long way with that stuff :)
