Annie- I hear your frustration. We have a similar situation in our neighborhood, but we don't have any kind of management to vent to. That is why we are looking into creating our own coalition (but that's another story).

I would think your apartment management would express deeper concern for their property. After all, who would want to rent there knowing that there are gang-inspired (if not actually gang-related) events like graffiti? I agree- you need to make your concerns heard loud and clear. Blogs like this are a perfect media for getting the word out about issues in our community. I used to use craiglist but that has become the vilest repository of hate and racism I have ever seen.

What's the name of your apartment complex? A few discreet but pointed phone calls from concerned community members might get the message across that they need to do way more than collect a check and pass along responsibility for their property to the tax payers as a whole.

I live off of Park Meadows and West Day Ave, whats funny is there are brand new condos they built and there is a security guard there at night watching them. RIGHT BY the mail boxes and brick wall, and apparently he didn't do anything about it. Its like either people are afraid or lazy to do anything about it. RIGHT BY A NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH SIGN,  I swear that if i saw some kids doing that i would stop them and call the cops. I have a BB gun id shoot them in the ass. There are these low income apartments about 2 blocks away that all kinds of trash come out of. I hate this. I hate that people do not care about their  property. OK, Its G&H Realistate 333-1022. .. Some punks with bright pink spray paint nailed my garbage cans, garage, and various telephone poles and stuff down my alley several weeks ago.  I managed to get the paint off my garbage cans with a razor, I filled out the online form, but there is still graffiti all over the alley. 

Pink?!  Yeah, that's a real message you've got going there homeboy.  I know a graffiti artist, maybe I'll commission him to cover the alley side of my garage and make a work of art out of the scribbles.  We were thinking of doing our own graffiti that reads:  Reverend Kindra and her disciples:  Aidan & Michael  Hahah!

What a lazy manager, seriously, she needs to call and have it cleaned up if that's the case - or better yet, pull out one of these extra cans of paint I'm sure they have and paint it themselves.  Lazy!

I can't remember the name of the stuff, but you can buy spray paint remover that comes in a can. You spray it on leave it on for a few minutes and scrub it off with a stiff cleaning brush and water. You need to wear chemical cleaning gloves to use the stuff. You can get it at Home Depot, Home Base and Lowes.

Who sells pink spray paint in a can? Pink spray paint is not a color thats bought a lot. All stores have video, maybe if you locate the store where its sold you can get the store to cooperate with the police.

 By law, all spray paint propellants are kept under lock and key and should not be sold to minors under the age of 18. That is why places like THD and Lowes have them in cages. Since the taggers in our area lack any artisitc influence, only use one color and do work that can be done in the space of 20 seconds or less, I bet much of the tagging is done opportunisitcally: IE left over cans in the garage or thrown in the garbage.

At first I thought the graffiti hotline was a great idea!  Then 3 kids were tagging up the inside of the garage next door to me (after breaking into it), I called BPD and the hotline - no law enforcement showed up.  I ended up chasing the kids out - who are the same kids that vandalized my garage!  The BPD never showed for me to give descriptions or anything.  What a joke.  The property next door is overseen by Able property management, I also called them, they never called me either, so I guess no one cares. 

omg you guys are great. so awesome. thanks so much. i wish everyone took part in preventing it like you guys. and keeping an eye out on their neighborhoods and take pride in their neighborhoods. :) I'd be any of your neighbors any day :) i was hoping to have gotten it off Saturday so these people couldn't see their "art work" displayed for very long and that we aren't going to take it.

Ugh, Annie, that sucks :/ I can't believe your manager doesn't care enough to want to take care of the problem... or at least fix it after you've already called! I've heard from more than a few people by now that the graffti hotline is absolutely pointless... frustrating.

Wow damn glad I didn't move on Sunny Meadow, whew, they were trying to raise the price of the house I guess. Since then I've found about 7 possibilites in the North East after i went looking.

Anway, Call the ahem,... media yeah I said Media. You hate em but they love stories like this. It will make you manager look stupid and he's be out there witha  film crew scrubbing it all up and making nice.

I watch my neighborhood pretty close bout the only thing that happens here is people feel the need to go 90mph down these curved streets off  Stockdale near Belle Terrace.

i bought some graffiti remover last night so tonight that's what I'm doing, its still there, obviously the other neighbors don't care either. which makes me mad. yea media sucks except Jaz & Ralph. they are the best. did u see the stupid article about him at Bakersfield.com

Yeah i saw it. "it's just a joke" true feeling often lies within jokes. ;) Ralph is a nice guy on the other hand.

Well unless you have met Jaz you cant really say anything, cause he has a radio personality.  He is the same person, but hes a little more quiet in person. Hes nice and i like him & his wife, they are good people. I mean some people may not like me from reading my obnoxious posts here, but in like you may find me more mouthy and annoying. (HAHAHA) but you might find that i listen to hippie music (Beatles, Paul Simon) go to Yoga class, and like to read playboy, Have a BAD MOUTH, HA HA not so conservative i think. but hey what r u gonna do?
