DEATH for RAPE
(TAKEN FROM YAHOO NEWS) WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court has struck down a Louisiana law that allows the execution of people convicted of a raping a child. In a 5-4 vote, the court says the law allowing the death penalty to be imposed in cases of child rape violates the Constitution's ban on cruel and unusual punishment.
"The death penalty is not a proportional punishment for the rape of a child," Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in his majority opinion. His four liberal colleagues joined him, while the four more conservative justices dissented. (so would rape of that person be proportional punishment ) I HATE LIBERAL JUDGES. FREAKIN FREAKS FROM HELL. DEATH ISN'T A CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT FOR RAPING A CHILD, CUTTING OFF THEIR BALLS AND FORCE FEEDING THEM TO THEM IS. I HATE THIS SICK WORLD, maybe if people had consequences people would think twice before doing it. I think they should be hung in the public square. i think thats fair.

For some, especially innocent children, being raped, is much worse than being killed. It kills innocence. It kills childhood. It kills the soul and violently crushes the spirit. I'm not sure if death is the answer, most perpetrators have, at one time, also been victims, but I do know that we must do all we can to protect our children, and to protect all against the deadly forces of rape. posted by

Although, Jesus did say the 'eye for an eye' method would lead us all to end up blind right?
But we're walking a tightrope now trying to discern between logically appropriate and emotionally vindicative posted by

But they shouldn't be punished like that because of something they can't contr....
I just can't do it. Those people who argue that are idiots. posted by

The people who make the arguement that they can't control what they are doing. I was making fun of them. Hence the ellipses and me saying "I just can't do it" posted by

Chase you say:

But, I think it was meant with structure and with a non biased under specific guide lines. In the "eyes for an eye" biblical principle the punishment should fit the crime just as our laws are SUPPOSEDLY dealt with. But not these days, slick lawyers rule the courts. posted by

What it ultimately breaks down to are these motivators: Fear of abuse of power versus fear of being abused. It just depends on what that group sees historically as the best thing to avoid. Hypothetically, if we kill off child rapists, in the minds of the judges I think it translates to "Government can keep black people and women from voting again". Whereas those who say "Kill them!" are saying "He just raped a child and we need to make this an example." Which I would lean toward the latter. But with this culture of fear we've been inundated with (Government corruption, conspiracies, etc.) there is a group of people that fears the worst possible consequences of stripping the accused (or convicted) of all rights whatsoever. Unfortunately, a lot of people get hurt in the meantime.

I agree with your post. I have a personal post that discusses rape & kidnapping, sentecing suggestion and a personal account o my own rape, kidnapping, sodomy and violence. Caution: My story may not be suitable for younger audiences or people that are easily offended. It is not suitable for kidnappers, rapists & murderers because I believe their sentences should be very harsh. Liberal, lame politicians, courts and Judges, and liberal politicians, lliberal child advocates, courts and Judges are allowing convicted rapists & kidnappers to serve sentences that are not in any way equal to the crimes they committed. Read my blog post if you want to read why I have such a strong decision...
