Recorded this tune in my lounge room the other day. Its about the night my brother died in a motorbike accident. That was 12 years ago, and I just wrote this tune a couple of months ago when thinking about that day.

If you like slide guitar you may like this, my playing aint the best, but its in tune.........

I spent the day in the studio with E from doejatainment yesterday and we collaborated on one of my tunes " All Get Down".......the result an acoustic hip hop melt, thats different to anything I've ever done before, we had an awesome time creating this little ditty...

This is my first attempt at making a video.

All the shots are done on my digi stills camera with video function.

Locations, "The Dome" Bakersfield, Tom's place, a road in Italy, a trampoline in australia and a beach in the Galapogos Islands.

"Going Home" was recorded on my four track at home ha ha the irony.

I played all instruments and drum programs....

Well, I have been on Bakotopia for quite some time now and haven't even started a blog yet. What a slack arse I am.

Now that I am starting to do some serious shit with my music I thought I would keep the Bakotopians up to date.I am not going to put any one down in this blog or give opinions on others thoughts or actions. Everyone is entitled to thier own thing and more power to you.

I started writing songs for the current project about two years ago, while living in a little box up in wofford heights. The mountains and the lake are so different from my home in Australia , that I was given new inspiration. Alot of my tunes are about, the beauty if the landsacpe, love, friends, spirits and mother earth. I guess there was some inner healing involved as well.

As I was up on the mountain and out of harms way from other influences I was able to write honest songs by writing down my emotions and playing with feeling rather than letting certain style or genre of music dictate my direction.

I formed a band here in Bakersfield called The Chaz Brown Band, things were really good for awhile, we did a gig at The Dome that went really well. But, I found that my tunes where slowly changing (not for the good) with others influences. It was then that I decided to change it up and forget the band thing. I wanted to get my tunes back to the way they were, with lots of feeling. I decided to work on my acoustic set.

The universe did its thing and I was contacted by Paul Nighbert A.K.A Dizzyfingers, whom I'm sure you all know from this site. Dizzy is an excellent guitar player and all round musician/ producer, and he dug on my tunes, I was stoked,we hooked up and have been working on my tunes ever since. Now, my tunes, instead of changing are growing organically at an awesome rate.

We just finished laying down tracks for the first four songs yesterday, and its feelin really good.We are going to take our time with this project though to make sure that when you see us live, and by cd, you will definately get you moneys worth, especially if you love  earthy, organic elements in your music.

So. as it stands, Paul and I are gonna keep feeding our spirit while bringing these tunes alive. We are excited about getting these tunes to a live audience too,,...but, all good things take time!
