Rumour Has It
Hello!
Over the grapevine and down the 405
I've been whitewashed.
I wrote this late a few nights back.
Hello there.

Chase - > Le singe est sur la branche! -> So I've finally heard everything...
So I've finally heard everything...
I was at work where talk radio is on quite often.  I was fortunate enough to catch one of the most ignorant statements I've ever heard.   It was on the Michael Savage show "Savage Nation".   Someone had called in asking for factual statements to explain how a plane could burn hot enough to burn through the metal structure of the twin towers.  The caller was sincere and explaining that he would just like information (this was sparked by the Loose Change video and all that other shit).  Anyways, Michael Savage responding to the callers inquisition by saying that the reason the twin towers fell was because of ENVIRONMENTALISTS!   He blamed to collapse of the towers on the fact that environmentalist groups pushed so hard to prohibit the use of asbestos in building construction.  He argued that if there would have been an asbestos coating over the beams, they wouldnt have melted (asbestos is flame-retardant).  So if I get it right...  having 3000 people die on Sept 11th was the fault of environmentalists trying to get rid of asbestos, a known carcinogen.  Because were there to have been asbestos on the beams, the plane would never have been flown into the towers, killing whoever was on the floors that it hit and all those lives would have been saved... aside from an untold number of people who would have died slowly and painfully over the course of years due to cancer from asbestos exposure.  But yeah, those God Damn environmentalists!

Yeah, certain interest groups get out of hand, any group has the potential to.  So why is it that conservatives must blame the liberals for everything.   Yes there are a lot of asshole liberals who dont understand the need for structure in a rapidly technologically advancing era in human history, and they can get overzealous on certain issues... but BOTH SIDES ARE JUST AS BAD!  It amazes me how people can claim a political affiliation, or claim themselves "liberal" or "conservative", and dont understand that both sides are pulling apart the flesh of our social existence and eating out our insides.

Which brings me to another show: Sean Hannity.  99% of liberals on there are idiots.  Why?  Because all liberals are idiots? No, because the calls are pre-screened and therefore, the most outrageous and damaging liberals are allowed on air.  Two reasons for this: A.) To inflate Hannity's sense of self satisfaction, and B.) To try and brainwash the rest of his listeners into thinking that all liberals are mentally retarded.  (I'm sure that liberal parts of the media do the same thing, my point can be applied to either side). I think that, if the only liberals that call in to the show are idiots, then that means that the genuinely intelligent people have much better things to do than to listen to Sean Hannity and all of his teat-suckling deciples praddle on about how "great of an american" he is.  Choke on your false sense of reality.

I'm tired, I'll post more later.

I recommend changing the channel to a healthy dose of animal planet duck documentaries.

Hmm I have heard that Bakersfield is a very conservative city (Wikipedia knows it all) .. so I guess there has to be a reason why your government desires people to keep being that way.
About the twin towers, yes, that comment made no sense at all, and yet we have the fact that such tall buildings, were perhaps built thinking they were invincible o.o, like... yeah, if you think in a way why there are no more ways out of tall builings that just the stairs? it doesnt make any sense... there's no security at all... a plane, a sudden fire because of anything... the people trapped above of the floor that was burning were gonna be still trapped :S

arqutecture(sp?)  needs to fill so many gaps :S

Choke on your false sense of reality.

I like that sentence. I'm going to have to steal it.

Pathetic. I hear more blabbityblabla on talk radio than I ever do on Bakotopia blogs like this one. Stop listening to that drivel, even if everyone else continues to tune in. Keep thinking with a critical mind and publicly questioning what you hear. Continue to refuse to let yourself be programmed to the tune of someone else's one-way frequency.

This is basically why I hate democrats and republicans.  Having said that... I'm voting for Jon Stewart for president.  And Parviainen for Governor.
