How do you deal with the family aspect?
So the more and more I study the subject, the less and less reasonable Christianity seems to me.  Unfortunately, that is the opiate of choice for the majority of my family.  The problem I'm facing is how to maintain my own views on this subject in the midsts of my family?  My mom is always asking me to come to church and my grandfather is sending me verses about following Jesus.  I have yet to have the chance to explain my position on the subject but I dont feel it will be accepted well.  Who knows though.  Under any Judeo-religious context, Islam makes more sense.  If I thought that the TaNaKh was able to work with the Quran or the Bible, then it would possibly be an option to me still.  Unfortuately, it doesn't.  There are too many things that dont work right when addressing the New and Old Testaments, as well as a lot of other political issues surrounding their interpretation.  This is a problem for me because when it does come time to remove the veils, then I will not only be viewed as "lost" but easily a blasphemer.  Who knows whats going to happen... all I know is I should embrace the adventure.

All religions have their negative aspects. Just ask the American Taliban. He's learning.

Don't bother with any religion. They are all essentially political organizations intent on maintaining power over people's lives. Why not ask the larger questions about life and our place in the universe without having someone spoon feed you the answer? That is the real adventure to embrace.

I wish you luck and happiness in your adventure.
