Over the grapevine and down the 405
I've been whitewashed.
I wrote this late a few nights back.
Hello there.

This is what I hate about some people.  They try and overdramatize things in order to appear as an "activist" but they really dont understand the first thing about the political system to begin with.  A man set himself and a Christmas tree on fire in protest of the changing of Winter Break to Christmas Break.

Honestly, why we are wasting our time with ludicrous affairs such as this is beyond me.  It didn't need tohave a meeting about it.  And Jackie Sullivan is a twat.  "[We want the kids to know why they are having the break that they are about to enjoy]."  If there is a child who is raised to believe the Christian view of the holiday (because as we all know, there are two versions now), then I'm abso-fucking-lutely sure that their parents are informing them as to its meaning.

I doubt there is a child that is in that religiong that is saying to themselves "Wow, until now, I had no idea what Christmas was about! I thought we were taking a break to let hoards of homosexuals come feast upon our souls and ravage the collective moral concience of America!  What a relief, this name change puts everything into perspective."  before they turn around and go "EASTER TOO?!!!  What hast been veiled from me by the hands of the liberals?!"

Now back to the 'protestor'.  There are two cases where I can see burning yourself alive as a suitable protest. 1.)  The country is under marshall law for no reason other than to subvert its citizens and they are coming to force you to surrended to Satans will.   2.) Barbara Streisand is the new president elect.
I bet he probably chose that way because of the Rage Against the Machine album cover.

Now off of that.  I find it funny when it is assumed that because there are a lot of Christians here that it is a Christian nation.  They are saying "Look, I know it says that we shall not endorse any religion over another, but I mean, c'mon... we're mostly Christians here."  Like if I were to say "Look, we're mostly white here."

Having said that, if it was already Christmas break, whatever, but it's being changed again and again and it needs to be left alone.  If you argue the historical aspect of things, then leave it in the history, it doesn't mean we need to keep up with it.  I also hate the people that become vocal about such things though.  A former South High teacher was on the news yelling "This is appalling! I'm so unbelievably offended that durka blurp blah dor durrrR!"  And she sounded like an asshole who was overreacting to something that wasn't that big of a deal.  Nor was it a step in a theocratic direction.  It was ridiculous and insensitive yes, but the way certain people are dealing with it is like screaming RAPE! while you're in a pillow fight.

My mind is wandering a bit lately.  I've begun again to feel the pull between body and spirit, like a rivalry between brothers.  But enough about that.
& nbsp; The more I probe the construction of my reality, the more I realize just how much I may be missing out on.  I've touched upon this point before with myself but I always legitimize my way back into by shell.  Its a decent shell.  It's constructed of numerous borders and warning signs that advise me to stay away from the edge.  I always respond to these suggestions with "What is there for me anyways?"  But now I'm beginning to think that, were I to reach that edge, there would be just more landscape to be explored.
& nbsp;  Socially it seems that the edge is just a restriction we've placed upon ourselves in order to safely cross over into the next .  We gasp and wriggle uncomfortably at the suggestive lyrics of a man expressing that he "can't get no satisfaction."  Then, as time scars over the wound of the freshly cut "edge", we then look back at it with a glazed over innocence that is hardly found at "the candy shop".  It has lost its striking rebelliousness and blended in with the pigment of our social skin.  Some would call this progress, Liberation!  Others would call it degression or moral dilapidation.  I would call it close, depending on whose running the show.
& nbsp; We've too much skin to comprehend what the body looks like as a whole.  To us, the world IS a wrinkle, it IS a toe, it IS a follicle.  It is never a body.  But as unaware of the salivary glands the stomach is, they still interact in a way that benefits the whole.  When we approach the edge, however, we must be careful to suture the wound carefully lest the hand become gangrenous and rot from the wrist.

I'm at a major changing point in my life... now or soon.  I dont know what it will be, but its on its way.

"I embrace my desire to
feel the rhythm, to
feel connected,
enough to step aside and,
weep like a widow, to
feel inspired, to
fathom the power, to
witness the beauty, to
bathe in the fountain, to
swing on the spiral, to
swing on the spiral, to

swing on the spiral of
our divinity and
still be a human"      &n bsp; Lateralus - TOOL

I dont have time to elaborate but just wanted to say this:  Chrismas trees, were they symbolic of Jesus or Christianity in any way, I could understand the distate for them during the season.  However, Christmas isn't about Jesus anymore, and when it was, it still originated as a pagan holiday.  So get over it.

So we've been scarred.  We're the folly of the generation before us and they are such of the generation before them.  We need to change this.  The family structure is dying.  Many religious people contribute it to the "downfall" of Christianity in our country.  Freedom of Christianity it should be called (thats for a later rant).  You know what?  Yes it is.  But not Christianity as the reason for, but Christianity as a model for a strong moral foundation.  People today are questioning the idea of "morals" too much.  They are relative in a lot of situations, but there are key concepts that are just not meant to change.  Not everything is for the questioning.  I'm talking about people who take it to the point of : "Quit being bad!" and then the asshole "philosophy major" (philosophy is awesome, I'm merely pointing to the douchebags who use it because they dont want to do anything but smoke pot all day) would say "What is bad?  That child is just expressing himself through tantrum".  And I agree, there are so many different variations and backdrops in front of which we can dress our rationale so that it fits our purpose.  The thing is, we need to quit talking out of our asses and begin to ask better questions like "where do we want our society to be" "what are our main goals" and so forth.  If we asked these questions, and then engaged in ACTIVE diologue, then we'd be closer to changing things.  But for now people will rely on the arguments of "Mexicans are taking our jobs" against "White people are just insensitive!"  I'm not going to go through all the possible misinterpretations of this that there could be in order to try and save face toward every person ever, take it as you will.

 So yeah, I'm back.
