Van Winkle and the Office Fashion Police

This morning I woke up a bit congested and out of a very deep medicated sleep.  I drifted through my morning routine in a fog and eventually was stepping out of the elevator onto my floor.  A woman walked in front of me, and due to the fact that I typically look at the floor as I walk I first noticed her shoes – fuck me boots.  I’m talking “these boots are made for walking” black leather healed boots up to her knees.

 

I quickly surveyed this hot mess, working my way up from her shoes to the swirly little short peasant dress she was wearing, had I slept my way to Halloween?  “Geez, I need to lay off the allergy medication”, I shook my head and blinked my eyes several times as I watched her rear end move down the hall.  Granted she looked pretty hot, what with her dark hair falling in gentle waves over her shoulders … but still – she looked a bit like this girl I knew who once concocted a similar number for a “Communist Christmas” Party where she claimed to be “Hanoi Jane”.  As I rounded the corner and took in everyone else dressed in the usual office attire I was assured that I hadn’t pulled a Van Winkle and someone just needed to call the office fashion police.

haha, these boots were made for walking boots.....ha!

i remember people tripping hard core at work when i showed up in chucks and jeans...granted it was a friday
