Remember This Face!
Look at this picture. Committ it to memory. This is the face of the enemy. As many of you already know, Ann Barnett has put her foot down and decided (on behalf of all Kern County residents- she is an elected official, you know) that if gays are allowed to marry, by gosh NO ONE will. Well, not in her office anyway. Can't you almost here the tantrum now? Sadly, she also controls who has the ability to officiate over ANY weddings. Quite literally, this person has the ability to decide who can get married and who cannot. Apparently California Law stops at the Kern County border.

So after all these back-n-forth comments, have we come up with a conclusion of who is right? If not I want to suggest that I be right by default. My views make perfect sense to me! posted by

Gotta love those "anonymous" posts, donchya? Well, "anonymous", you certainly have a lot to learn about the judicial system between state and federal. But in short (I'll try to keep the words small for you) the Federal Supreme Court ALLOWS each state to amend, modify or completely ignore it's rulings given the autonomy in which a state can govern itself. That is why we HAVE a governor, and elections, and elected officials. Because what may be good for Indiana (for instance) may not be good for California. Here's a tip, "anonymous": Get some education and a healthier understanding of how OUR (yes, yours and mine) government really works. That way you won't sound like such a fool next time. So while I appreciate your OPINION on the subject of gay marriage, it is only that: an opinion hiding behind misinformation.
Gee- I coulda sworn anonymous was BeckyFischer1957... At least that's what it said on my profile page of gratuitous information. Hmmmm. posted by

Ann did exactly what she should have done. The Supreme Court of California approved Gay Marriages. However the Federal Supreme Court did not; therefore the California Supreme Court's ruling is not valid. Legally, they cannot not go against a Federal Law.

Annie- I love your candor, your willingness to voice your opinion and your struggle to learn from others despite contrary perspectives. There has never been anything you have ever posted (as far as I know) that has been mean, insulting or desparraging in anyway to the character- the humanness- of a person. grampson has only chosen to share malicious statements that sought to demean, insult and harm a persons character- namely mine. And while I am loathe to stoop to such "extreme" actions as deleting a persons' statements, his had simply crossed a line I will not tolerate in my life. He certainly has his right to speak his mind in any fashion he chooses. I have the right not to let it into my life. It's that simple. I'm not censoring or taking liberties with my "liberal" perspective to pick and choose opinions that only seek to abjectly support my beliefs. But I won't be called a q u e e r in my own blog by a man who's single and sole intent was to demean and harm by using the word. And I won't have my character assassinated through my art simply because it's the easiest vehicle for him to use. That is not censorship. Nor is causing hardship for by the use of such words "free speach" but simply cruelty for crueltys' sake. Not all "liberal" (gawd I hate that term) people are out to stem the flow of opinions against them. I've read and internalized plenty of statements over the past couple of weeks that completely go against the grain of what I believe- but I don't dismiss them as rhetoric simply because I don't agree with them. I believe all opinions are important... to the people who make them. All views are valid... to the people who perceive them. That is why I can credit Ann Barnett with sticking to her guns while still admonshing their intended effect on the gay community. I can agree with how you feel without agreeing with 100% of the content of your statements. posted by

What did grampson say? also you cant get mad on the Internet, it is my #1 rule. I have almost broke that rule, but honestly who cares if someone hates you, there will always be at least one, this is where it get tricky because there is something called free speech, like My new shirt. I bought it to prove a point, my point being, "Speech is only OK, when you agree with it" and liberals are very into Freedom of Speech ONLY when it comes to what they believe, for instance, they believe burning a flag in free speech, but burning a Mexican flag in the USA is discrimination, see the ridiculous thinking? I do and i cant stand them, they aren't for liberty anymore they are for freedom restriction. I don't know why this is how it is, but it is and its stupid. LIKE DO I GET MAD WHEN, gay people call me a breeder, LOL of course not, but would they get mad if i called them a homo, most likely. I have went to PRIDE in Hollywood and YES GAY people talk shit about straight people too, I'm not sure but my friend doesn't get offended when people say "that's gay" and some might, i donno the rules. I will never pander to another person and change anything about myself, and if i chose to say "that's gay" i will, it doesn't have anything to do with a gay person literally, its just something i have said since i was 13 i think. and if you get offended about that, damn, this world is a lot harder then that, and i hope that a term doesn't set you back in life. I know that if i am called cunt, it doesn't ruin my day. Who gives a shit what others say, you cant dictate what a person says. You just cant. don't get offended, just know that its not you and its them, and move on. I think you are a cool person, from here, so i wouldn't ever worry about what a person says about how they might perceive you. You know you and that should be enough. I know , for a fact, that people don't like me, but what are you gonna do, change who you are for them to, of course not, you also can make them like you , so i wouldn't spend any time on them or worrying. and grampson gets on my nerves, so its funny you deleted his comments. =D posted by

Well, I've taken something of a hiatus from this particular blog... for a number of reasons. 1) I'd become rather embroiled and needed to step back and re-gain some modicum of perspective. 2) I had much to do over the weekend as I'm heading up to Wisconsin for a week. 3) It is so easy to allow fellow bloggers to engage you in petty battles and name calling. I don't need that in my life. I've been living with name calling (as the obligatory school fag) since elementary school. It's interesting, but it never ends. So if you find a number of posts deleted from this particular blog it's because I've had enough and I'm with twinky when I say this is not what I want my blogs to be about. Grampsdon- your are invited to never comment on any blog I post- ever. You don't like me and now that you've made that clear to anyone who's read this blog I think you've said enough.

whose not getting along?
I actually didn't vote on the gay marriage thing, i felt that since i don't like marriage period, i wouldn't be a good person to ask. Also i left it up to others to vote, i didn't care either way. I don't understand why people want to have a religious ceremony anyway, and yes, MARRIAGE is a religious thing. so, since you are now allowed to marry, why complain? why get married where you arent wanted, i mean if she says she doesnt like gay marriage, then EFF her , get married somewhere else, I wouldnt wanna be where im not wanted, thats why i dont live in LA, San Fran, new york, pretty much any big city in the US. I got a FUCK LIBERALS shirt yesterday, im pretty excited about it. its black and red...... i wanted a pink one, but they didnt have one. =) posted by
