Have I gone retro? Several people I havent' seen for a while a back blogging. Welcome to all. Life can be good. We will have a patio room in our new home where we might be able to grow orchids. Escrow closes Monday on our new house in Kern City. Won't be moving right away as we have things to do on both ends. Went to the Home and Garden Fair in Bako today to get some tips on landscaping, blinds and paint. Never a dull moment. Crowds will soon appear. They love our green grass in the Kern River Valley. Slavery was and is terrible. But, while on our trip to Panama and Colombia I attended a number of on-board lectures. One thing was apparent. The Spaniards, many years before our counry existed, captured people in Africa and transported to this hemisphere to work as slaves. This is why the blood-lines in places such as Central Amercai, South America and Mexico are not "pure" native. The "black" blood is everywhere, but not because of us, the USA. Boring. Sorry I am so! But, so is Bakotopia I guess. While in the water off Fuerte Amador, waiting to go through the Panama Canal, I was in the stern of our ship when a sunset cruise party boat came along side. They were singing, yelling "We love you Americans, "Feliz Navidad" and having one great time. How fun. How great communisms is. Cesar Chavez has rationed electricity in Venzuela due to shortage of rain. Lot's of oil, no hydro power. He is devaluating the currency 50%. He (and Obama) admire Castro. I still think he is a dictator. What a nice place to not visit nor live. We travelled about 6000 miles, visited 6 countries, and ended up with our grandson in Ft Lauderdale. What a great trip. |
