There is good news and bad news.  Good news:  fav lady is mending well and is now hopping around with one crutch and big boot cast on her hurt foot.  Bad news:  I have to have a toe digit removed!  Argh.  But, not to worry, I have had this before on the other foot and do OK. Besides, I have more.   Why?  Sometimes we get old and circulation  etc blah blah.  It had to do with raising money for my church's little league team and a hot dog sale but never mind.  Will do fine.  Besides, maybe I could get a peg leg and be a pirate.

**shudders at the thought of perhaps accidentally eating a toe hot dog at last weeks church bbq fundraiser...

Glad to see you're in good spirits about losing a toe, gramps... one less toenail to clip, at least.. right? Also happy to hear your favorite lady is healing wonderfully!

Twinkie you take the cake! (Ohhh).  Hadn't thought about the Wendy's ordeal.  What a feat.   Thanks for the happys on fav lady.  She has really been a good girl, and not walked upright for a month.  I have about exhausted my cooking chops though.  Good recipes (with Twinkies of course) with no more than 4 ingredients would be appreciated.

Hi Papa,

Phooey.  I hate hearing that you're going to lose another digit.  :(

I don't want to seem like a nag ... but, please, remember my email about the Dermacyn.  You can order it online for ***less than $20*** with a faxed Rx from your doctor.

I don't want you to just accept that you need to chop off those cute toes that I used to stand on and "dance" with you when I was a little girl!

What's to hurt asking your doc to try it at least until you're scheduled for surgery to amputate??  It's got some excellent reviews and it's FDA approved.

You are not meant to be a peg-legged pirate.  PERIOD.

And furthermore you're a damned good cook too.  :)

There’s one very exciting symposium that is will introduce a new wound care treatment that is called Microcyn or Dermacyn. This is an exciting new topical treatment that we think is going to make a big difference in fighting bacterial infections in diabetic foot ulcers, CLI, critical wound ischemia, and chronic wound healing, with far-reaching potential uses in burns, respiratory and skin infections. This is a new non-toxic, “super-oxidized” water that appears to have tremendous antimicrobial activity against all bacteria and spores, including MRSA. It has very encouraging early results from Mexico and Italy in all kinds of wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, burns, CLI and venous ulcers. To date, Microcyn has been found to be non-toxic to living human cells. U.S. trials are being organized and preliminary results are due to be presented at our conference. The other potential healthcare benefits of this technology are staggering when considering that chronic infections play a huge role in almost all diseases from head to toe, and have a staggering impact on our hospitals and entire healthcare system.

It's beyond that product I fear.

Well, I try.

One day I get a phone call from Mom -- Papa's got a little infection in his foot again.

I get an email -- infection gone and the doc's current Rx is working and the toe looks like it's healing.

Then I sign on here to read your blog and find out you're scheduled to have toe amputated.

WHAT'S A DAUGHTER TO DO?

Still wish you'd ask for an Rx and keep that stuff on hand to try before all the "this little piggies" are gone.

But I love you anyway.  Way, way, a lot.  :)
