Grampsdon - > -> Twinkie recipe dessert with kick fun eating
Twinkie recipe dessert with kick fun eating
While I was watching Emeril cook last night I drooled over his dessert.  He calls it banana foster, but could be banana twinkie pie or some other great name.  Here it is:
8 tablespoonsful butter cut into cubes
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoonful ground cinnamon
4 ripe bananas peeled and cut lengthwise into halves.
ARE YOU READY TO KICK IT UP A NOTCH?
1 cup banana liqueur
1 cup meyers rum

1 pint vanilla bean ice cream
powdered sugar in shaker
4 springs fresh mint &
8 one inch slices of yellow pound cake  (Could be Twinkies?)
In saute pan melt the butter, stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon.  Add the bananas and baste them with the syrup for 2 minutes.  Carefully add the banana liqueur and rum.  Place the pan back on the stove and shake the pan a couple of times.  The pan should flame, if not ignite the pan with a match.
Shake the pan back and forth until the flame dies, basting the bananas constantly.  Put two scoops of ice cream between the slices of cake forming a sandwich.  Place in the center of a shallow bowl, spoon two banana halves on top of the sandwich and spoon sauce over the top.  Garnish with powdered sugar and mint.  Should not be attempted by children.
Yield 4 servings (in whose house?).
Last one to try it is a wet hen (wet hen?)  That comes with age.

You mean Foster's brand?  I know of Chunky Monkey by Ben and Jerry.  We went through their  factory a few years ago.  Nummy.
