Illness caused by poisons etc I should be dead
I really should be dead by now, or at least some kind of a blob. Why? Well, everything you read or hear talks about all the toxic substances, and hazards in our day to day life. Kids are doomed to something awful especially if they have routine immunizations.
Well, we did really dangerous stuff! We took mercury from broken thermometers and played with it on our hands. Then we would coat silver dimes with it and marvel at their shine! But wait! (double your order blah blah..... never mind) And we melted lead, molded lead soldiers and played war with them! Then we would remelt, re-mold them and play some more. But wait! At school we would climb on the heat ducts. They were covered with asbestos! But wait! In the summer we would kill the lawn by shooting liquid from a fire extinguisher! It was filled with carbon tetrachloride. We would run down to the river in the spring, and swim across (in our...) in the spring flood. In the winter when bored, we would go to Kootnai Creek and jump off the ice because we were macho 10 year olds. Then with nothing else to do we would choose up sides and have rock fights or BB gun fights. (OK one kid did loose an eye on this deal). But we didn't know any better. There were no Tort Lawyers to warn us and sue somebody. So I guess I am a living legend to be my age. If I get altzheimer's tell the doc that it was the mercury or lead poisoning, or I got hit with a rock or have a BB in my skull. And then we can sue the bastards.
