Grampsdon - > -> DEATH-SORROW
DEATH-SORROW

We had a horrible family tragedy this afternoon.  Our daughter-in-law, her daughter and two grandchildren were getting ready to shop at a mall in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  While getting the strollers out, a 62 year old woman lost control of her SUV for whatever reason, careened across the parking lot, hit one or more cars, and a van pinned our daughter-in-law, Peg, under it, killing her.  Our great-granddaughter received a concussion and is in an ICU.  Her mother who had a Csection two weeks ago was slightly injured, and the baby unharmed.

If you believe in prayer, do that.  Ella is our Great grandaughter, and her Grandmother was Peg.  Our son is Bill.  The driver may have had a physical impairment, and she will have to live with killing our sweet Peg.

Sending all my prayers and sympathy for Bro Bill and Family.  It just can't seem fair that Peg was taken out of the world in such a freakish accident.  But, if a life had to be ended, I can say in my own pea brained wisdom, that I know that she would rather it be hers, rather than the little ones of her children or grandchildren.

So very sorry and sad tho.  Hugs to all.

And much love especially to Mom Joyce who has borne such grief already with her kids.

Love you all and sharing tears.

I will pray for the family and the great grand daughter in the ICU I will ask God put his hand upon  your family Don.  Comfort all of your family and yourself. This happened for a reason , we don't see it but then again we don't have God's perspective.

I'm a  firm believer  that  older people need to have a  a driving test, and a driving stress test,.one that would test their ability to  handle things that come upon them suddenly in driving situations. Also I think  driving  a standard transmission car would help. It would give them a  3rd pedal and make them have to think about what they want to do  with the vehicle. Just a thought.

You all have my prayers!  Nothing, absolutely nothing happens in God's world without a reason!  Though it may be hard  to see in "our time", it will be revealed.  As always, it's possible that it could have been worse.  Just pray for the knowledge of how to best be there for those who need you now, and your pain will ease.  Nothing you do will change the past, you can only affect the future for you and others you love and that love you.  Pray!

God Bless, CounselorDave

 Thank you all for your words and prayers.  Favelady Joyce is in Milwaukee now, and our Great Grandaughter, Ella, is still in a children's hospital ICU.  She is still comatose, probably doctor induced because of brain swelling, but is showing some improvement such as eye movement.  As of today, they expect her to be in ICU for about 3 weeks and then perhaps longer in another department.

Yes, thanks to God, that the mother Shannon, and the infant Lincoln (2 weeks old) were not  seriously injured.  Many family members from both sides have gathered around.  The father's father, (paternal grandfather)  is a pastor so there is much spiritual support.

The offending driver is not charged at this time but her SUV is impounded to examine for mechanical defect.

Time and God will decide.

Don, I am so sorry to hear of your sorrowful news!  I pray that God will put his arms around you and fill you with his spirit and love during this devestating time!  I pray for strength for all of you to wend your way through the tough times and hope that all the happy memories that you made with Peg will comfort you some small bit.

God bless you all and hold you in the palm of his hand and send the angel band to comfort you!

Don, I am sooooo sorry. Big hugs and rainbows going your way!

Look, it's the "nature's rainbow" you offered me through my time of grief. I'm gonna say a special prayer tonight for Ella and the rest of your family.
