I have a cousin who lives in Australia.  Why I don't know. Well, I know why he is my cousin but not why he moved to Australia.   It is interesting though as evidenced by the picture I posted some time ago of him with a snake (See "Santa Barbara").  Now he sent a picture of koala bears in his backyard "gum trees".  Eucalyptus to us.  Fun anyway, mates.

There is good news and bad news.  Good news:  fav lady is mending well and is now hopping around with one crutch and big boot cast on her hurt foot.  Bad news:  I have to have a toe digit removed!  Argh.  But, not to worry, I have had this before on the other foot and do OK. Besides, I have more.   Why?  Sometimes we get old and circulation  etc blah blah.  It had to do with raising money for my church's little league team and a hot dog sale but never mind.  Will do fine.  Besides, maybe I could get a peg leg and be a pirate.

This weekend is a time to ponder and remember those who have fought and died for us, and those in our ancestry.  We may not think the state of our country is so good now, but think how much better off we are than everyone else.  God bless America!

Good news.  Fav lady  is recovering on schedule, and can put a little weight on broken foot.  Still doing wheelies in chair but standing some too.  Made it out to her sewing room today for r and r.  That's for run away from me for a while.
Also good news, it is "speed weeks" in Charlotte and drivers are putting on their racing faces.  Much excitement here too as the new track on I5 is pouring some cement on the tunnel track.   There will be racing.

Did you see?  Todays restaurant review by Pete Tittl gives great marks to the Prime Cut.  It sounds great but they still don't talk about deep fried pickles.  Dang.

Parades in the olden days.

Note to Twinkie, this is a float from a parade in my home town in Montana back in the 40's.  Must have been gas rationing.  Fun though.
