The Supreme Court today said that it is OK to require people voting to have a picture ID, showing them to be real people and citizens before voting in Indiana.  Will this affect the Democratic primary.  In the state of Lincoln?  Stay tuned.

I think it is interesting that only 48% of the democrats in Pennsylvania bothered to vote.

This is my latest post from my friend Al:

Had my security briefing yesterday and am drawing my flack jacket and helment.  Blast walls all over and canvas screeens all around to block views of the windows, so snipers can't ssee inside.  Our compound has 200 South African and Ruwandan mercenary troops guarding inside and the perimeter is covered by Iraqi troops.

We are like an old west fort, with lots of indians running around outside.  The baddies are getting more sophisticated using shaped charges and multiple types of attacks.  They say one of our convoys got hit about 50 meters outside the gate a couple of weeks ago, but nobody seriously hurt.  The vehicle hit was driveable for the 50 meters and they got back under cover without to change vehicles.  That would not be fun, having to move from one vehicle to the other under fire.  I certainly hope to avoid ever having to do that.  These old legs don't move as quickly or bend as well as they used to.

Its not near as bad as you would think from the press and tv, but if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, it can be deadly.  Certainly nothing I ever dreamed that I would be doing back when we used to play bridge and listen to the girls play the "Orange Blossom Special"
Take care Al, and keep your head and butt down.

We were returning from Bako this afternoon, but couldn't get through the canyon since some O.F. (my age) had run into the river.  So we went back to East Hills Mall, and there was a young group of musicians setting up for a gig.  They said they were the Modern Jazz Trio.   We couldn't wait to hear them, but their riffs sounded good.  Know them anyone?

Today, April Fools Day, is also Fave Lady's birthday.  After an appointment in Bako, we went to lunch and the Double Tree Inn.  For her birthday, they gave her a huge piece of double chololate fudge cake and french vanilla ice cream.  I even got to share.  A Good day.
