Crazy Art Teachers

So we have all been in class and really not liked our professor a lil bit sometimes right? Thursday nights i take a class over at stockdale high school. I won't say his name but he's been assigned to take over my night class for art appreciation because my other teacher had to step down from teaching so many units this semester. Mr. B we will call him... yes... ok. On the first note when i met this guy last week i have a preety clear open minded view of him until he starts pacing like no other and writing things on the board that pertain nothing to art, but instead to the knowledge he has about art. If your an artist you understand what i mean... not saying that you might not get this. He will explain a slide with a piece of work on it to the T... People aren't looking at the things he is describing because unless you are an art major... The mathmatics, history and brilliance of each piece of work isn't going to strike you as much as those who have a further place of knowledge for it. I used to be an Art Major till my dreams were crushed by my digital arts teacher(fall2007). He smashed on how my work wasn't what he wanted to see. I figured well.... if you want it to look the way you want... heres the pencil/pen/mouse  and draw it for yourself. ill put my name on it when your finished and call it an A. Thanks ! I couldn't major in art after this because of the way it made me feel about each piece i was making. I would need to wonder is this going to be appropriate enough for his standards of grading or should i just do what i want sence i know i  like what I've created? Am i going to have an employer that treats me like "give me what i am invisioning and don't put any of your own flare of what you are trying to make the person feel in it".... It was a tough decision, but i let go of my dream to do art for a living and am now a communications major.

It always sucks to have a teacher or a professor who ruins your version of a profession or whatnot.  Sometimes it makes you realize that doing something as a profession and doing something as a hobby are completely different worlds.   Are you taking comm at BC?

It's good you're taking a break from your oringial passion and majoring in something else but don't give it up completely! We all have to have a hidden passion, right? And it sounds like that teacher messed with your confindence a little so taking a little time off to regroup is ok!

Bad teachers suck big horse ****
