Godbye, That

“Goodbye, that”

I said, when I realized

The variety of former

Necessities that have

Started sloughing away

Thanks to this big ol’ Loofah

That is my life

“Goodbye, that”

“And that”

“And that”

“Goodbye.”

Here's a poem I wrote about the slow & gray and mundane days that are Sundays with a major hangover. Morrissey's "Everyday Is Like Sunday" inspired me to write it:

Sundays

Hot, Slow, boring

Go to the Laundromat

Sleep. Wake up. Sleep. Wake up.

Soft, distant, ice cream truck melodies

Yard sales, swap meets, junk yards, auto parts

Mom in the kitchen making caldo de res and menudo

Television: car racing, golf, tennis, Al Fin De Semana, infomercials

Sleeping in the passenger seat of my girlfriend’s car to get her fingernails done

Aunt visits after church and smells like cheap perfume which gives me a bigger headache

Yeah, I agree - "Sundays" rocks. Love it!

Twinkie - that Loofah line dropped out of  the sky as if it was wrapped up in a big red bow.
