Happy Valentine's Day!
I could be jaded, I could be cynical, I could be down right pouty - but guess what? I like Valentine's Day. Regardless of my mood or my dating situation I have never once viewed this holiday as it "sucking". Personally I think that people should show love to others each and every day of the year. They should surprise each other randomly with little gifts of appreciation, love, and gratitude year round! Unfortunately in this day and age we become busy, or comfortable (that folks is a four letter word in many relationships) and work into a mold where we forget to do these things, thinking to ourselves that the people we love in our lives already know, and we take this for granted. So maybe they do know, but sometimes it's just nice to hear - I love you, I appreciate you, I'm grateful to have you in my life. Valentine's Day, corporate holiday or not, is just one of those stupid little gentle reminders for us to say those things when we've forgotten to say them the rest of the year. Kudos to those who do say these things on a regular basis! I know I sure try to let my friends and family know regularly that I love and appreciate them. I do have to admit that I feel a twinge of jealousy and if another bouquet of roses shows up for the same person in my office again I think I'm going to throw up. 4 comments from 4 users

Fave lady and I don't do much gifting on "gifting days". We have a game we play with greeting cards, where on the day of the holiday, we each put a card on the other's chair, and then are surprised that there is one there. Then we read our cards, and express our love for each other. This has only been going on for over 30 years. And sometimes we do buy something special, but not on the PC days. We just love each other, every day. posted by

That's a good way of looking at things. If anything it's one day out of the year to show the people you love that you appreciate them.
