Attention all mothers
ER, umm, what's a mucus membrane, and why does my doctor want to "strip" it?????? Sounds disgusting.... and painful...

I am wondering if the doctor is talking about the mucus plug - which, when it "goes away" means labor is coming soon. I only noticed this happen once, and it is rather odd, to say the least - It isn't painful at all, so says mother of four... me. posted by

Oh, nothings wrong with baby; it's my doctor! I guess his ass had somewhere to be on the weekend or something and wanted to speed up the process! I was not yet dialating however, so he decided not to go thru with scraping my plug last week. I was going to reply earlier but found that I had nothing but rants, freaking rants about the guy! That along with the fact that I was sooo pissed at myself for not processing what was he was telling me during my visit with him last week! Doctors piss me off... Might as well have told me, "O.K., well just make you have the baby now so that we could get out of town on the weekend,"uhghhh!
