Online Communities - Funky cool spots or nacissitic, navel-mirror-gazing black holes?
I've been in grad. school for now two semesters, have two more to go @ USC focusing on Online Communities and I'm completely sick and tired of the "Ivory Tower" b.s. embrace of social networking and how transformative these tools are. New technology simply is new tools, urr, toys, and people will use them, abuse them, or not like every other new tool. that said, I'm really interested in their potential and will cross-post something on the Bakersfield site.

This is a powerful video, "Bombs" that MTV banned.

I blogged about it here (post about how messed up Hollywood is and how this weaken democratic foundations - like allowing torture, etc. - with other link at bottom).

MTV bans that video, which was very well made and artistic, but allows EMINEM"S anti Bush video? so weird how they pick and choose. I like Eminem, don't get me wrong. .. it's just weird to me how there's no rhyme nor reason as to how they pick what to air and what not to?
