Drunken Rampage
So last night (August 26, 2007) I started my drunken rampage through the night at a Japanese restaurant called Tokyo Gardens. Between the awesome steak, rice, sushi, beer and saki, I was feeling good. Me and Nick sat at a table full of people from Czechoslovakia. I couldn't understand a word they were saying, but I managed to recommend to them what beer they should order.

After dinner we headed out for the Crystal Palace. I made a bet that the house band would either be playing "Tulsa Time", "Mustang Sally", or "Sweet Home Alabama", being that they haven't changed their set list in 8 years. Of course they were just ending "Tulsa Time". After about 10 minutes of the singer talking, they began to butcher a perfectly good Alan Jackson song. We didn't even stay long enough to hear them finish the song.

Next we headed to Trouts. It has been at least a year since I stepped foot in that place. The only thing that has changed there is the band. Same drunks, telling the same lies, dancing to the same songs that every band in town plays night after night. The best part of my Trouts adventure (not counting the drinking) was that I managed to convince people that I am an oil field worker named Joe Henderson and that I live right across the street on Decatur. Gotta love idiots.

So my next stop on the drunk tour was FishLips down town. I showed up to find a kick-ass funk band playing. After ordering a couple drinks I took a look around, only to find that me and Nick were probably the only white people there. Not to be racist or stereotypical, but you just don't normally see that many black people down town. It took about 10 minutes and a couple drinks before I was out on the dance floor getting my grove on with the rest of the crowd to "Lady's Night" and "Super Freak". I'm sure that I some how managed to embarrass myself, being that I absolutely can't dance.

On my way out of FishLips I managed to run in to 2 people that I have picked up more than once in the ambulance. I finally got to say "Who's the drunk idiot now Beeeeoootch???!!!"

So we ended the night at the best place in the down town area. That's right, the cigar bar. Unfortunately it was too late to order beer, so I just picked out the biggest stogie I could find and burned it down before heading home.

Are we to assume that you were off duty?

On your next rampage, stop by Amigos.  They have bands that don't play everywhere else.  I promise you won't hear Tulsa time.  You may even hear Superfreak and Ladies Night if the Prisoners of Love are playing on a Saturday.  On Friday you'll hear some good 80's mixed with a couple 70's classics and some new stuff.  Best of all, you'll have a good time with good people....and lots of single women.
