Dang people! I posted the same offer on my Bakersfield.com profile and got almost 20 replies...nada on Bakotopia.com...hmm! Is it just me, or is it safe to assume that no one here cares one way or the other about Traditional Country Music and it's historical significance to the town that we all call home? Sad...no, not sad; more like tragic...you gotta support the arts and entertainment industry or just like any other business, it will go "out of business" and the apathetic attitude you all have is just shameful. Ah well, what can you do? Can't make anyone care that the music, and the knowledge of the trailblazers who made this town a household word. Good or bad, even with the "Redneck/Okie" reputation we all have to endure, press is press, right? What if WE all did just a little bit to change the fact that the entire world views US...our entire town...much in the same way as you all mistakenly view the last of the original Honky Tonk nightclubs we still have here. Do you realize that we are the butt of more jokes than Rancho Cucamonga (and with a name like that, who wouldn't laugh?) Buck, Merle, and all the others saw to it that the entire world already knows that Bakersfield exists; I bet they would change their minds, maybe even care what goes on here... if only WE ourselves did...ya think?
