Transference, Hostility...Friendship?
Hostility... ...is like a psychic boomerang." -Waitress (Howard the Duck) My friend Always said to me, "I try to keep good people around me. People who have heart. I like your heart." I try to keep in mind that there are psychic vampires out there. They want your happiness. They want to take away your good thoughts and fill your mind with negativity. Transference. They want to transfer their angst upon you, and in turn, receive the happiness that you are working to achieve. Or worse, hope that you are as miserable as they are and no one wins. I am not saying that everyone is this way, or that they even do this on purpose. Thanks to those who are aware enough to say, "I just need someone to talk to." I will listen and be there for you. I sooo agree. Yeah Norma, I'm glad you did what you had to do and are happier for it! I had to stay away from most of my family for awhile. It was hard and I was hated for staying at a distance, but now they are starting to see why lol. This post was more of a reminder and warning. I'm glad I have friends who know what heart means, though. I am so thankful for good people in my life! posted by

Sometimes you have to,..you love them but you have to distance yourself. People like that even tend to , due to negitivity, get sick easier too. posted by

Absolutely agree. I once had to do a friend purge. There was so much negativity around me and they all fed off each other and passed it around and around and around until I started slowly buying into it then I couldn't breath. I'm much better off now, in case you're wondering. But damn. That was a tough choice. Great post, Trish! posted by

THIS IS SO TRUE TO THE BONE.AT MY JOB YOU CAN'T TURN A CORNER WITH OUT A RUMOR OR HE SAID,SHE SAID!! I'VE LEARNED TO IGNORE THEM I KNOW IT'S HARD AT FIRST BUT PUT YOU'R SELF AWAY FROM THEM AND THINK OF WHAT MAKE'S YOU HAPPY. This is so true and they will bring you down every time. Like a ugly dark cloud. I've had the misfortune to work witha few of those kids of people and I get away from them as fast as I can they can drain the life out of you. Some of them even know this and use it to their advantage.
