America Consumed

Less driving and consumption of oil based products has forced a decrease in prices! This will not take effect immediatly. It may not take effect at all if offshore oil rigs continue to be attacked.

America has become so dependent on their vehicles, make-up, plastics and more. Most Americans thought the fall of computerized networking would lead to "old school" methods and ultimately we would see the demise of the new technological era. Myspace is still here, so we are all ok. Appearently, American vanity, sloth, and greed has won the bet on that premise. Our demise of culture, if you call bling culture, has led to the end of the superficial era. That is, unless prices fall overnight. While price sore we have an opportunity to realize that superficial ways of life were leading to a stressful headache of a psychologist driven zombie world. But, even if prices are reduced will we continue to leave the engine off? Let the grass grow, follow the bike path, wear less make-up, recycle.

Will we take this time to enjoy being alive instead of worrying about what we need "did" next. Right now we are suffering from hard times. It's hard not getting your nails and hair done. It's hard not having the five bucks for the combo deal and having to cook actual food. It actually is hard finding the funds for gas to make it to work and to various places for necessities. But, what are necessities? Should women let the hair on their legs grow right along with the lawn? Walk the path instead of ride a bike you can't afford? Wear no make-up at all?! At least most Americans already recycle. Right?

I guess, when it comes down to it time will tell if America will be "getting did."

People need big events to force them out of their apathy. Especially in an era where everything is competing for attention and ad space and getting in your face NOW. As long as the machine keeps running fine, nobody cares. It doesn't matter that the machine is running toward a cliff.

True Chase.

ok was I asleep when this was supposedly to take place?

Most Americans thought the fall of computerized networking would lead to "old school" methods and ultimately we would see the demise of the new technological era.

I don't recall anyone saying this.

The millennium bug...Y2K. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Y2K

I'm sure many people were joking that the system in a whole would crash and we would revert to snail mail and other messengers. I still joke about that incident. But, that's what I get for watching Dark Angel and Terminator. lol

well everyone said it wasn't the year 2000 anyway it was supposed to be 2001 all the tech friends I was around at the timesaid that. I don't think anyone i knew was hoping computers would fail, there was already too much invested in time and energy trying to make life simpler with them. I think everyone was more fearful that the little part to the really cool puzzle might fall flat, but I'm sure they thought things could be resolved, and see look,..no problem. just like the 2012 fearful people,..The Mayans just stopped they were busy killing each other for self sacrafic to finish,..like there ever would be?
