Duets Night Rules Duet Definition: Any selection performed by two or more singers.
Object: Perform songs as a Duo, Group or Choir to score points. The Duet with the most points wins. Earn additional points from the Audience and the Host. Let’s have fun!
The Duet: The Duet/Group receives the points for the selection.All members must sing.
Point Scoring:
· Duet Performance = 3 points
· Serenade = 2 point
· Audience = 1 point for performance based on response
· Host = 1 point for quality of performance
· Bonus** = 1 per Bonus activity
· Creativity = 1
**Bonus point(s) for an outstanding performance or for bringing audience members to the dance floor.
Serenade Option: Serenade an audience member for points. The Serenade can be performed by a solo performer. The performer(s) must declare the selection as a Serenade and an Audience member must come forward for the performance to be eligible for Serenade points.
Miscellaneous: Songs sung with Karaoke Host are not eligible for Duet Performance points, the singer may be eligible for other points. The selection does not have to be a traditional duet or group song, but must be performed by two or more singers. A duet or group song performed by a solo performer is not eligible for points except in the case of a Serenade.
Yes! It’s okay to modify the lyrics. In fact, it may be worth a creativity point, e.g. rhyming the word boy when used in place of the word girl.
Yes! A Duet group can declare a Serenade and receive points for Duet Performanceand Serenade.
Judging: The Karaoke Host is the Judge. Judge’s rulings are final.

Definition: Reversa-rokè is “female” Karaokè selections are performed by males and vice versa. Object: Choose songs popularized by the opposite sex to score points. The Singer with the most points wins. Earn bonus points from the Audience and the Host. Let’s have fun!
The Singer: Vocalist or Vocal Group. The Singer receives the points for the selection. Group members split the Song Points, but members may be eligible for separate bonus points.Group members must sing opposite parts to score points.
Point Scoring:
**Bonus point(s) for an outstanding performance.
Dual Song: A song that was a hit for both a male & a female, e.g. Proud Mary.
Miscellaneous: Songs by Male Groups, e.g. The Eagles; The Beatles, count as Male Songs, and songs by Female Groups, e.g. The Judds; The Bangles, count as Female Songs. Songs by Mixed Groups, groups with male and female members, will count based on the sex of the Lead singer of that particular song, i.e. Jefferson Airplane/Starship.

Definition: Movie-rokè is Karaokè performed to songs from the movies. Object: Choose songs from Movies, TV or Broadway releases. The Singer with the most points wins. Performance quality is not judged. Let’s have fun!
The Singer: Vocalist or Vocal Group. The Singer receives the points for the selection. Group members are eligible for 1 Creativity Point separately, but again the group, not a single member,gets the points for the selection.
Point Scoring:
· Movie = 3
· TV = 2
· Broadway = 2
· Creativity* = 1
*Creativity is judged by movie music knowledge, e.g. calling Sweet Home Alabama from the movie Sweet Home Alabama is not creative, calling it from ConAir and listing both movies is creative. Or, giving a creative movie title for a song is good for 1 point.
Movie: Feature film originally released in movie theatres.
TV: Television, Cable, Direct to Video/DVD releases. Music videos are excluded.
Broadway: Live theatre presentation.
Judging: Karaokè Host is the Judge. Judge’s rulings are final.
