Definition: Reversa-rokè is “female” Karaokè selections are performed by males and vice versa.

Object: Choose songs popularized by the opposite sex to score points. The Singer with the most points wins. Earn bonus points from the Audience and the Host. Let’s have fun!

The Singer: Vocalist or Vocal Group. The Singer receives the points for the selection. Group members split the Song Points, but members may be eligible for separate bonus points.Group members must  sing opposite parts to score points.

Point Scoring:

  • Song = 2 points
  • Dual Song = 1 point
  • Audience = 1 point for performance based on response
  • Host = 1 point for quality of performance
  • Bonus** = 1
**Bonus point(s) for an outstanding performance.

Dual Song: A song that was a hit for both a male & a female, e.g. Proud Mary.

Miscellaneous: Songs by Male Groups, e.g. The Eagles; The Beatles, count as Male Songs, and songs by Female Groups, e.g. The Judds; The Bangles, count as Female Songs. Songs by Mixed Groups, groups with male and female members, will count based on the sex of the Lead singer of that particular song, i.e. Jefferson Airplane/Starship.

Yes! It’s okay to modify the lyrics. In fact, it may be worth a bonus point, e.g. rhyming the word boy when used in place of the word girl.

Judging: Karaokè Host is the Judge. Judge’s rulings are final.
