Being a marine, i think there should be a draft. It used to be cool to be the one in the military. I feel that it shouldnt be that voluntary. It should be a civil duty.

Well I think the main reason I put this is because if we don't have some means of protecting our country what's the point, we will be taken over and our constitution won't hold water. This is really my response to pipedpiper's comments on her blog. My thoughts and feeling there were not allowed. So a person that is an extreme liberal as she is showing an almost communist attitude by "blocking me" I find that funny. Very childish way to be I think. Thank you for your comments. Here I allow all comments. I personally wonder if a draft wouldn't be a bad Idea these days. It would cure those momma's boys internal rage for nothing. But hmmm then again might make a fine killing machine to bring home later Not sure if the latter would be a good idea. Right now we get the cream of the crop because they want to be there. Draft would be good for those smart aleck that don't want to conform possibly so as you can see I'm some what mixed on my feeling of a draft. posted by

Honestly, I'm thinking more so along the lines of every able bodied man having to spend time in the military as is done in other countries... during both wartime conflicts and eras of peace, as part of a growing up aspect in American culture. However, I think there should be serious consideration in the different military branches' selection as to who makes the cut these days. It's not widely reported (go figure) that gang recruitment is rampant in the military. You have to dig a hell of a lot deeper than msnbc's reports to find the facts on this. The truth is, military tactics are taught to gang members of various outfits and being employed into their agenda on our streets... kind of a scary thought when factored into the equations of the pro's vs. cons scenario being flirted with here. posted by

Man that's the truth ( the service and gangs) That's been going on since the 40's at least bring home new techniques.
