Is there anything fun to do, besides getting wasted....
at local bars, here in bakersfield? I would like to get more familiar with the local music scene here. I've been to Fat Tracks and watched Monty Byrom (Big House) record some music, which was fun. Jerry's Pizza is fun, though i've been there a few times. I can't believe i missed the Korn after-party..that sucked, i was wondering if they had one...well turns out they did and I missed it.oh well, next time i guess. 8 comments from 7 users

...OK...I'm very surprised that more people haven't piped up to this one. Fishlips and Sandrini's are huge supporters of the live music scene in Bakersfield. Saturday night, after Brews in the Village, Fishlips will be having an after party with Mento Buru and DJ Mikey. On the Bakotopia home page, click on the EventCalendar for happenings. Sometimes the Mint will have some live music and even the Cat on occasion. But Fishlips usually has something going on ALL the time. Plus they have an awesome bartender who makes a killer crown n' diet coke. (literally, the bastard tries to kill me....lol)

The mint when did they start up the bands in the back again poop I want to be there for that... If you like tiny places for bands and bar there is sliver fox. Yeah Sandrini's is an awesome place for bands to play. I haven't been out and about in a while so thats all I know

sorry you lost me at "besides getting wasted" it's all I know how to do. tee hee. kidding. Actually if you are asking about stuff do to OTHER than bands.. there is always the theatre. NO I don't mean the movie theatre. I mean LIVE plays. I've gone to a few shows and really enjoyed myself. When I actually make it out I usually like to get a bakotopia group together because the more the merrier, right? Just keep in tune to Bakotopia for all kinds of things. The RAT show is on tonight at The Empty Space on Oak St, Brews is tomorrow (where I finally get to drink, lol), the Dome has a lot of shows. If you let people know what you like, then you can be directed to that kind of stuff. Or, ask, like you did here, we are all helpful. deusexmachina, ladies tell me you should try Andrew's "Love Juice", I hear it put you in a mood (hopefully the good one).
