Everybody's Pilin' on Palin, and I think it's pathetic: Here's a song about the 2 Mavericks

Since I've been unofficially banned from Bako (not by Matt or the powers that make this blog community possible, but in the arena of public opinion), the liberal groupthink has really gotten out of control.  The evidence I stumbled across as I recently logged in is contained here:

http://www.bakotopia.com/ho...

I said it before, over there, and I'll say it again.  This is so predictable, and, quite frankly, pathetic ---------everybody piling on Palin at Bakotopia.com like a bunch of liberal groupthinkers.

I don't think folks are afraid of her being incompetent or being inexperienced or of being all of these things put together, coupled with being "one heartbeat away from the presidency."

I think she's a threat to liberals because, from their narrow point of view, a conservative woman, (and an affable, attractive one, at that), is not supposed to get this far in politics. I'm not saying she'll necessarily blow Biden away at the debate, but I wouldn't put it past her either, and apparently, the LA Times thinks he may get more than he's bargained for.

Funny,  I'm not a liberal and I'm not a fan of her's. But I don't want to talk ill of her. I think she does that every time she speaks publicly

The woman , as a potential V.P.,is a farce and a fiasco waiting to happen.....That ain.t groupthink....IT"S MY CONSIDERED&n bsp;OPINION......we love the way some individuals continually revert to their idiotic labelling of any one unwilling to fall in with "The Company Line"....and by "we" I refer to our household and close friends (of which I am  one of only two Btopians) that see in Palin a threat to the underpinnings of our nation.......I am glad McCain picked as he did because after the debates tonight his chances of attaining the Presidency will be nil and his poor judgement will be more apparent than ever..........LET ME BE PERFECTLY& nbsp;CLEAR, I AM NOT A DEMOCRAT OR A&n bsp;REPUBLICAN, I AM FIERCELY INDEPENDENT and plan to remain so.....I see plenty of evidence on this site that groupthink,as you refer to it, is coming from many quarters, NOT JUST THE ONE YOU ALL UDE TO........SOME THINGS NEVER&nb sp;CHANGE.......in light of what would appear to be SOP(for you), let me state openly and honestly that I have absolutely no desire to "dialog" with you on this subject...my response is just that,my individual opinion. I will not subject it or myself to your continually imperious and delusional criticisms....FEEL FREE TO WRITE&n bsp;"A SONG" AS YOU WOULD NORMALLY DO condemning me or anyone else with the arrogance to hold to opinions or view points that differ from your own......and PLEASE revisit the definition of FREEDOM lest  you forget it's meaning entirely.............

Thank you BLT for helping me think straight! For a minute there I thought I had formed an opinion, lucky for me youre here to correct me and my "narrow point of view." The first step to recovery is admitting ones mistakes. Will you be my sponsor?

posted by drblt on Oct 2, 2008 at 08:11 AM

Sure, japo, all sponsor you for anything except your politics :)

What i think is funny is that liberals hate her cause she is pro-life and a sucessful woman. hahaha its great. its funny that  women dont like her and like obama instead when in fact HE DOESNT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOU, NEITHER DOES SHE! POLITICANS ONLY CARE ABOUT POWER AND MONEY. its funny how people look past that.

i hate Obama  he pisses me off.

posted by twinkie on Oct 2, 2008 at 09:27 AM

Annie, you just hate him because he's a successful black man. LOL just kidding. But for reals, yo.. people don't HATE Palin because she's a succesful woman either. You either care for her political stances, or you don't. It has nothing to do with gender or race.

And Dr. BLT... why is it when people have the opposite opinion of you, they are ignorant groupthinkers but when everyone agrees with you, they are no longer groupthinkers, in fact they are all of a sudden genius and entitled to their opinion?

 hahahaha

I've had numerous people tell me I look like Palin.  I think I might have my Halloween costume for this year.

My political stance ... I personally don't think it is a good idea for anyone who has such a stance against abortion to be in office.  Abortion is one of those things we vote on - and I think where it sits it's fine, I'm pro-choice up to 3 months gestation, and further if the pregnancy puts the mother's life on the line or the child will be severally mentally disabled.  There are people who say NO NO NO, regardless of the situation and when they are put into political office I think it just creates a really bad environment because suddenly THEY have the power.  Oi.

Mmmm, no. It has been really fun to watch the GOP selectively parade their princess out of the tower once in a while, and then watch her blow it. She sounds like a dumbass. That's why she is fun to make fun of. She's a tabloidy gimmick. And she looks like Peggy Hill.

Or maybe I'm just jealous. Yeah, that must be it.

Hopefully she'll say something meaningful in the debate tonite!

I have a question BLT: Who hurt your feelings that you refused post? And by the way, thanks for posting that you have not been posting. (Is that like leading a protest in efforts to stop protesting or graffiting on the wall to stop graffiti?)

To accuse somebody of being sexist, are you not being sexist? When people accuse Bush of lying, you argue he didnt. When people accuse Bush of being dumb, you say he is not. When people say Palin is not qualified, you say it is said because shes a woman! When people say she is not smart enough, you say they say that cause shes a woman? Are you being a reverse-sexist by defending her honor? Are you her knight cause shes just a girl? So do you not like Pelosi cause shes a woman who is a Speaker of the House  and one of the more powerful women in office? Or since she is not "afffable and attractive"  enough, she is not woman enough to be hated for being a woman?

Ps: Thanks for the sponsorship offer, What should I do with my brain? Since it is not required?

Politics aside.... "unofficially banned... in the arena of public opinion"? Seriously?

You post and repost your opinion verbatim in various threads, whine that you're not being understood, yet devalue the opinions of others as "groupthink".

I don't get you, BLT. But I do understand how you might feel isolated. It's an ilsand of your own making.

And Dr. BLT... why is it when people have the opposite opinion of you, they are ignorant groupthinkers but when everyone agrees with you, they are no longer groupthinkers, in fact they are all of a sudden genius and entitled to their opinion?

When everyone agrees with me?

And just when has that ever occurred here?

Actually, twinkie, you're one of the ones I should have made an exception for.  You are not a groupthinker.  It's pretty clear to me that you think for yourself.

As for Yellow's new attacks on Palin, Palin pretty much put those stereotypes to rest at tonight's debate.  If you still believe she is a joke, then nothing she does or said will change your mind.  Biden did great, but Sarah Palin did very good, and also presented herself in a much more refreshing, energetic and engaging manner than Biden did.

She has a right to her views on abortion.  Neither ticket is going to be able to reverse Roe vs. Wade.  They all claim to be against abortion, they just have different views on the role of government as it pertains to abortion.

As for you Japo, I don't have hurt feelings.  There were a couple of comments that crossed the line for me, and offended me in the midst of the big debate over whether or not I blogged too much.  But those were deleted.  Out of sight, out of mind.  My lack of blog volume over here of late has to do with a limited access issue.

an1ok1joe, and Annie, you make blogging lots of fun over here, as does twinkie, Hank Ray and a few others.  I don't think you're all a bunch of liberal groupthinkers.  But some of you (and you know who you are) are clearly stuck in that trap.  I can say Biden did well, even though he's a member of the ticket I'm not voting for.  I've said before that Obama is intelligent, articulate and that he has a pleasant personality.  Some of you would never try to take a serious look at anything either of the Republican candidates do well.

Thanks, Annie, for inspiring the song I posted here:

http://www.bakotopia.com/ho...

I didn't mean to put any of you down as people.  I was just trying to offer some constructive criticism (and praise as it concerns Annie) about the way you are approaching politics.  If more of you think for yourselves, maybe you'll inspire me too.

Its tough not to read your original post and the last part of that last comment as contradictory. And when in hell did you (or should anyone) care about public opinion? Groupthinkers Bakotopians are not. I don't like political discussions on here much but I've never seen an absolute pile on of liberal views. Unless you're of the standard: "Anyone who stands to the left of me is Liberal."

Using phrases like "pathetic","groupthink", & "narrow point of view" does not constitute constructive critisism.

Don't play the victim, you unoffically banned yourself. I recently told Joe that I enjoy like-minded people, but like-minded people who have differeing points of view and can still discuss them factually and with civility. It can even be entertaining and educational (who knew?).

If more of you think for yourselves, maybe you'll inspire me too. <--- How condescending. No one thinks for themselves. We all have someone thinking for us and giving us information. It's called 3rd hand information. We formulate opinions based on our experiences and the facts (people who are lazy replace "facts" with "opinions") presented to us. We trust someone with getting the information to us. Some are more credible then others but its all about sources.

Crap, I'm sleepy and i don't know where I was going with that last paragraph.

There's my nickels worth. I want change back.
