What's a Buckanuck, you say? Well, it's up to you to answer. If you answer it correctly, you'll be the first to win the song I wrote as a prelude to tonight's radio show, Bakersfield and Beyond, on KWMR http://www.kwmr.org There are two new blogs posted at Bakersfield Sound Underground today: http://www.bakersfieldsound...
http://www.bakotopia.com/ho... What a Thursday this is gonna be, eh? It's a rock n roll psychological vaccination for swine flu panic. It's my parody of Blue Oyster Cult's Don't Fear the Reaper. It's called Don't Fear the Swine Flu. You'll have to go underground to find it: Bakersfield Sound Underground http://www.bakersfieldsound... Where can you get the downloadable, injectable form of my vaccine. I'll be shipping it across the world and adding it to my record store at: http://www.drblt.net (soon to become drblt.com) within the next few days.
Which do fear more, the swine flu, coming to a local venue near you, or the new Creed CD? Unlike some, Creed has never made me sick. You'll catch they're new CD soon. You mustn't catch the pig flu, but you must catch this new Merle Haggard/Animals Medley. These Swingin' Doors has just been assembled and attached to a Bakersfield-tailored adaptation of the Animals' House of the Rising Sun. See if you can correctly identify the local honky-tonk that this adapted version is about, and win the mp3. Oh, I almost forgot, to hear the song, featuring Tommy Isbell, a fellow kccrocker (Kern County country rocker), visit: Bakersfield Sound Underground Well, maybe the demand for the song isn't quite that intense, but whatever the level of intensity of the demand, I think I'm safe in assuming that lots and lots of kccrocker (Kern County country rocker) fans will appreciate the sentiment expressed in this original tune of mine. So keep watching at: Bakersfield Sound Underground http://www.bakersfieldsound... Keep checking my profile at http://www.myspace.com/drbl... and always stay "tuned,"---literally tuned at: http://www.drblt.net (soon to be http://www.drblt.com (as it was before it was hijacked) I guess what I'm really trying to say is "some kick-ass country is comin' to town," so you'd best be ready when it arrives! Buck Owens past away just prior to the Easter seaon. On the anniversary of his death, this song came to me. Here's a song that I tried to add to my record store today in an effort to make available another track from the No Sympathy: A Bittersweet Tribute to the Rolling Stones CD. I want to thank Pat Frase who played the drums and Walter Stormont who played rhythm on this track. I want to thank Jerry Rothberg, and all of the fellow members of the Rolling Scones who participated on this CD. Technical difficulties prevented me from uploading the song onto the internet edition of the CD today, but here it is for your listening and reflection experience as we celebrate Easter Sunday. If you want to download the song, check back at my website in a few days: http://www.drblt.net HAPPY EASTER! Happy Easter. Hope you enjoy my Easter song. He's a kccrock (Kern County Country Rock) guitar legend-in-the-making. It started out as a rumor, but you'll find there's more to this rumor than simply a rumor: Bakersfield Sound Underground Music for mavericks, outlaws and romantics. Marin county may be out of your FM dial range, but you can stream the show live tonight from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. I'm proud to be on the playlist, and I'm proud to represent Bakersfield's fine music community and rich musical heritage on this exciting new show that broadcasts at the time noted every second Thursday. Stream it via: http://www.kwmr.org You can get it directly at: http://www.tollbooth.org/20... or you can head underground: Bakersfield Sound Underground: She's consistently been compared to a superstar from my hometown of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Joni Mitchell, who was introduced to the world by Johnny Cash. You'll have to decide for yourself if she's the next Joni Mitchell. You can do that by checking her out on the latest edition of Rising Stars from the folk side of the nu bako sound.
