I came back into town yesterday and was so delighted to see that I live in a valley. There are a few days a year when the rain and wind get together and clear up all the crap out of our air so we can see the pretty mountains that surround us. I really can't tell you how much I love those days. The colors of the sky are so sharp and vivid, especially at sunset. As a photographer I actually have the strong urge not to shoot. Like it's something I want to keep to myself. Growing up here you tend to think to think that grey excuse for a sky is a "clear day". I wish we had more days like that.

Side Note: While studying photography up north I actually turned in a slide picture of a meadow with a blue sky in it, only to have the teacher chastize me for not using a polarizer. I thought he was off his rocker until I noticed that it was blue to me because of what I was used to here.
