THEY ARE A JOKE. there is honestly no point in voting only to at the most prolonging their dictatorship. people have voted them to have too much power,and that is what happens when you allow the government to do everything for you, they can take anything away.

*i like hearing the religious rights opinions about gay marriage too, its funny. what they don't know is MARRIAGE IS CRAP and most likely they are unhappy too. No one wants to be someones wife or husband . how boring is that.  id rather be a mistress then a wife. (LMAO) (not really but you get my point)

 Annie- I respectfully say that you cannot appreciate anything unless you're denied having it. Marriage is "crap" for those who don't believe it applies to them or have perhaps seen too many poor examples. My closest friends Howard and Jose have been together for 24 years. Clearly, they have a relationship that works. What they can't have are the same rights that you so casually call "crap".

Gube- let's not forget those four people in robes were voted into their positions by you and me. They didn't apply for the position through CareerBuilder. The supreme Courts, both State and Nation, are your voice, too. But their function is to uphold the law- not uphold the will of the people. As I mentioned in Annies' blog, just because the people voted for something doesn't make it right or Constitutional. And the very idea that a law, Amendment or Article can be questioned by the people makes our government anything but a dictatorship.

Yes- of course your vote counts. But you have to know what it is you're voting for in relation to what you've voted for in the past. What we've learned through the example you outlined, Gube, is that While the "people" voted against same-sex marriage (however misguided that vote was), the "people" also voted for Supreme Court Justices to evaluate the constitutionality of the laws we vote(d) on. It's not a perfect system- Democracy never was. But it is a far sight better than many other countries.

what funny is me and my friend Andrew always talked about him getting married, which he couldn't at the time. and like 6 months ago he moved to NV with his boyfriend. lol i think its funny cause when he moves out of CA they say they can marry lol

I think if you believe strongly in something  make a noise,..I mean A NOISE, scream yell bitch write petitions annoy people. Write Congress people, annoy local government, everyone pretty soon they will say OH GEEZ Give'em what they want so they will leave me alone. I think of the woman that bitched at Bush when he was in Crawford about her dead solider son.  Everyone was hot for the war then. She was "stuff" on everyone shoe. But she kept it up. It made the press. It also allowed other people to say what they thought for a long time about the war.

This is a STILL  pretty much a  FREE country  voice your  feelings through freedom of speech.
