Busking at Whiskey Flat Days
I played my songs outside the old Pet Shop for Whiskey Flat Days. It was all cleaned out and freshly painted for vendors. I could have played inside, with amplificatio, but it still smelled, well, like a pet shop in there, and it was crowded, too.... So I played on the sidewalk, like I did last year. It's more fun to be out there among 'em, anyway. I think the video captures the energy and the chaos pretty well. I made a few bucks in tips and sold a cd. Beer money... At one point someone with an axe to gring came up and asked me if I had a vendor's license, but when I asked him for his name , he wouldn't give it to me Everyone else seemed to dig it, though... Busking is a great way to share your art with people with no middlemen and no BS getting in the way. Been doing it for years. It has it's own special challenges, and also it's own special rewards. Looking forward to next year... 3 comments from 3 users

* Fantastic, Losthills !!! You busking would've enriched my experience, right on point with how it actually would've been back in the old days. I realize this event goes back a little farther than Guthrie, but, that's how he did it, just his guitar, singing his tunes for anybody that would stop & listen for a few bars. I almost went , but, since my health is not so good, & the weather was not the best, I didn't risk it. Maybe next year. Please don't take offense to this, but, you kind of have a Guthrie vibe to your sound. I mean that in a good way. Anyway, keep going, it takes courage just to be out there on your own without any gimmicks or band to hide behind. Best Wishes Always, The Musical Nerd --- AKA --- MUZIKDOCTR * posted by

Sounded great! Hey, maybe you and I could play a tune together and lead the Rats out of the Parade next year!
