Butterfly Kisses

I'm sure I've mentioned it before. When my best friend Dee and I were about 25 we took off on a road trip to nowhere one year ended up in Santa Cruz.

After we did the whole beach and boardwalk thing we decided, HEY YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD BE A GREAT IDEA? LET'S GET A TATTOO.

We ended up with matching butterfly tattoos.

Of course years and years later our little butterflies had withered and died. Mine looked like a moth. Hers just looked lonely and tired.

She did it first. She went and had the tattoo redone, adding a flower and a heart to it.

Mine was harder to figure out. I didn't want to ADD to it... I just wanted it to look like a butterfly again.

Well, during my last Vegas trip, I did it! I went into Hunington's at The Palms (where we were staying) and "Roach"did it up!

The first picture is a picture of the outline. You can see where my old "moth" is being covered up.

I'm going back in May to have an added layer of color to complete the full effect.

Our granddaughter had a grape vine tribal tat around her bicep.  I asked what it would look like when she got old and she said "raisins".

what kind of flowers were you thinking of getting?

I think I want a hisbiscus but honeslty I'm not really sure yet and nothing has "jumped out" at me. The following pictures are similar to what I want but I don't like any of them... if that makes any sense. I like the "flow" but not the art.

For example this one: I like the style but the flowers aren't colorful enough and I don't want mine THAT BULKY. If it were longer instead of bulky and the flowers had more color I might like it better.

This one, my butterfly will "fly around" somewhat like this but I don't like this tattoo AT ALL. I do like the orange butterfly though. I want one similar to that somewhere on the tattoo.

this one is more like what I want but the tattoo looks cartoonish and the vine too "skinny" ...

and lastly, this is the way I want mine to creep up the side of my back but not stars, maybe flowers? or that would be where the vine would flow? not sure. It's the perfect thickness though. Not too skinny, not too bulky.

With your physical height, you could probably stand that one on the backside that you thought was bulky!  :-)
