Marijuana March 07' -- Represent!

What a blast. I got so tanned though. Some good stuff goin around that day. The walk itself was the funnest. Beach park to the liberty bell. There was an overwhelming and very surprsing support from spectators, many of them honking thier horns, or holding thier fingers up to thier mouth :)  Only one guy had the nerve to boo us, but hes got that right.

So many good points were brought up.  One guy, he suffered from blindness and glacoma. He brought up that hospitals give clean needles to heroin addicts, condoms to teens at school, and one other pretty good point. Not that they shouldnt, but if they could do that, then why wont they let the sick people smoke thier medicine?

They called this an "emergency protest". Like many of you out there know, there has been a series of raids goin on throught bakersfield. The DEA comes in and totally underminds STATE LAW. The federal government is trying to bann marijuana dispenseries' licences, making even harder for the patients to get their meds.

Seriously though, who does the DEA think they're hurting by closing down the shops?  They sure as hell aren't stopping the teens out there, cuz we all know how easy is is to come across the stuff. Teenagers and recreational users were not the ones shopping at the clubs. That was a place for people with prescriptions go to get thier meds.

Marijuana has been proven to help treat a number of medical problems, including (but not limited to) glacoma, athsma, aids, arthritis, and migrains. There are far worse and addictive legal drugs out there like methadone and codine, yet we discriminate against a substance that has proven results just because of the stigma attached to smoking marijuana.

We've got to show them that we care. We got to show them that some people are willig to make the walk and support our elderly / sickly. Do we really think its ok to take meds away from sick people? Is that a good message to send? Would you take insulin from a diabetic? And would you take athsmetic's inhalers? I dont think so.

I love protests!

I got a couple of pics, but ill upload those later, because im at work.  Damn, i guess its back to mindless work for me again.

peace

hey there... i drove by you all on the way to the store... the article in the californian got me thinking about the whole state versus fed thing... i'm not strong in that area, but how can the state pass a law like that which is completely against federal law?... i know it happens frequently and i believe that is the problem here... i understand the statement made by youngblood... it is messed up that he has to issue these liscenses because of state law and then turn around and bust the same people when the DEA comes in... i wouldn't want to be that middle man either... does anybody know if and how any other states deal with this problem? or is it just more general hate for california?
