Hello Bako Town..

Yep, I have a new title Secretary of Rock Out To Knock Out RSD wahoo! Going to need a hat rack for all these hats I am wearing lol.

OK, here is the deal.. Ashley has been busting her butt trying to get help with her concert and running into walls every where. There has got to be someone out there reading this willing to help her out. She is getting so darn frustrated (I have said a few choice words these days also) BUT not GIVING UP! The parks want to charge her thousands of dollars to have this concert there. Can’t get KRAB to help out, all due to this not being a well known cause like cancer or something. In Ashley’s words, “How can this be a well known cause if people will not help?” Words of a 16 year old people..

In order these are the things she needs and soon..

A Venue to hold the concert at. She has some bands, people that want to do a car show, choppers, auction items ect.

Someone willing to take this kid under their wings and say “hey, let me help” I am doing everything I know what to do.

A Big name sponsor..

If you can help her or know any one that can it would be so great! If we keep saying someone else will help her, no one will. If we don’t get this condition out there, who will?

Bono's Turning RED: So Am I: You Can Too: Fighting Aids in Africa

Bono's always been a man with a plan, and when it comes to fighting AIDS in Africa, I've found Bono's plan to be better than any I've seen yet. It's a program called RED and it has to do with merchants banding together to relieve the immense suffering of the people of Africa---suffering that is so vast that it makes all of the problems in the United States pale in comparison. RED is a color that has come to stand for many things, but in this case, it stands for an outpouring of compassion. If you're BLUE about you, maybe you have the right too, but I'd recommend a change of color. I'd recommend adding a little RED. Put on your rose-colored glasses and make the world a brighter place for the people of Africa to live.

My Heart Hurts

My heart hurts tonight. Everything will be ok, but I needed to replace one of my actors for "Control Freaks" today. The exceptionally good news was I recruited an actor who started acting in “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress” so once again, it’s a returning actor…. Someone who has worked with me before, so I know he can pull it off.

Jeremiah Lowry, one of those “Have a clutch situation? I’ll help ya out.” kind of actors. I know that position well. After all, I picked up a role once between weekends. The show opened and an actor dropped out. I was tapped and the next weekend with ONE rehearsal, I went on.

The good thing is, the actor who dropped out came to my house yesterday to talk to me about it. He didn’t pull a “I just won’t show up” thing, he came to talk to me about it. Part of him looked like he wanted to be talked into staying – my predicament is this: I only want people who can’t WAIT to be on stage… not any that are hanging there by a thread… because they “have to” be there by some duty.

I want my actors to be there because they are passionate about what they are doing. Anything else, I don’t want them there. If they are at all hesitant about going for it on stage, they won't do well. With this script in particular, the actors need to be ready, willing and able to swing deep and wide.

So – part of the adventure of putting a show together is sometimes this happens.

And everything is going to be ok, even if my heart hurts.

Just when you thought it was safe to get out for the mid-term elections, and begin setting your sites on the '08 election, rumors of a John Kerry vote have begun to take float. Republicans, are you afraid of another Kerry run in '08? Vets, are you afraid he would win? Are you afraid of another round of Kerry campaign ads? Democrats, is there anything more frieghting to you than George W. Bush? I don't fear his winning. I don't think that would happen and I may actually prefer him to Hillary. I fear over-exposure to another round of Kerry campaign ads.

I wrote this song just prior to the elections of '04 and it became popular among liberals of all people. I now apologize for making fun of Kerry in '04, and I take back all of the words in this song. BTW, it features Walter Stormont on the Halloween voices.

Okay after much editing and reediting of my new tracks "Cell", "Soundscape To Another Life", "Station" & "Tech Tronic Elements". I've released it here first for all of Bako to sample. They're huge soundscapes of techno, trance and idm, with that bass club feel. Most people I've talked to say that some of my tracks are hard to clasify into a specific electronica genre. I think that's a good thing, I've always wanted to make people scratch their heads, while bobbing them. It makes me feel that I've really gone past the edge of where I can go with electronica and I hoping to push it farther. These will be tracks on my future CD "FRAGMENT" which will be the first CD I release available online other then past accomplishments from now defunct MP3.com

DISCO SUCKED! Or did it? My biggest "hit" of the year (so far): WHEN THE BEE GEES WERE THREE

In the early 70s, nobody thought pop music could become any more vacuous. Then came disco. And it came on strong. Notwithstanding the Beatles, and the British invasion of the 60s, can a phenomenon possibly get any bigger than Saturday Night Fever? Records were selling like they were going out of style. And they did. So did disco, thanks, in part, to a movement reflecting the "disco sucks" sentiment of millions of back-to-basic rock and punk fans.

Well, personally, I've never been one to write off any style of music, and when it comes to disco, well, let's just say I have my guilty pleasures. For better or worse, the Bee Gees became typecast as perveyors of disco, even though they had been delighfully demonstrating their deft knack for writing poignant love songs and brilliant ballads since the early sixties. When Maurice died a few years back, the Bee Gees were no longer three, and I shared in their loss with this article:

But the article was missing one of my now signature one-song "soundtracks." I hope you enjoy it. If you are old school, I hope it takes you back to your high school or early college days. If you are new school, I hope it takes you back to the days when your parents used to play, or burn this stuff way back in the day when they used to say, "DISCO SUCKS!"

The Kid In the Window

I see a little boy looking out of his window every day. He looks sad? Maybe bored? Anxious to go outside? I don’t know. But every day I I sit here and wonder.

He lives in a roach hotel. You know the kind. The ones you rent by the week. I work right across the street from this hotel. And the things I see make me run home and hug my own children. The kids run around outside in diapers in the middle of winter. No supervision. Cops come once a week at least either looking for, or arresting somebody

A few months ago there was a cute little girl playing outside all day. At one point she decided it was time to go inside. She knocked and knocked on the door. But they wouldn’t let her in. Finally, a man opened the door and told her to get the hell away from the door. Then he shut it and locked it. She left for a few minutes then came back. She knocked again. The man threatened to beat her ass. He told her HE would tell HER when it was time to come in.

Dejected, the girl went and sat on the sidewalk for a little while. Then decided she’d try again. Same results. At this point my coworker decided she needed to call CPS. A few minutes later, the cops arrived. I don’t know what happened but I do know the little girl was finally allowed back in the room/apartment. Only problem is, same thing happened the next day, cops were called again. By the next week, that family was gone.

Where is that little girl going to end up when she grows up? Will she be in an abusive relationship? Will she resort to drugs to mask her pain? Where will she be in five years? Will she have survived her childhood undamaged? Will she even live that long?

Every time I see an older kid, hoodlum, gangster, thug, I always think to myself, “this kid was once a cute adorable little boy/girl.” And it makes me sad. I wonder if he grew up in an atmosphere where he didn’t know any better. He simply followed the footsteps that were left behind for him.

Perhaps he didn’t know he had better choices. I can’t help but wonder what this cute little boy in the window will be when he grows up. Will he be a teacher, a truck driver, a cop?, a store clerk?, an author?, a rapist?, a murderer?

I know that sometimes as parents we do the best we can and our kids still turn out rotten. I realize that. I understand that somewhere along the line they will have choices to make and they may not be the right ones. And sometimes these choices will be life altering.

One of my son’s good friends recently was suspended for possession of cocaine. This is a kid that I’ve watched grow up before my very eyes. He’s a star football player that at one point was probably at a party, or with his older cousins, or whatever… and was asked to try cocaine. He chose YES. He has now changed his life course. He can no longer play football. Will he change his life around at this point? I don’t know? But he has a choice. And he has a strong family support at home in case he chooses drugs are not for him.

But some kids don’t even have that choice. Just like the kids that I see living in the roach hotel. Their parents are probably druggies, or alcoholics. These kids are born into a world much different than what you and I know. They live things we only see on T.V. And the cycle is hard to break. It can be done But it is not easy. Who is going to take the time nowadays to help these kids out? To show them that life DOES get better. Who is going to tell them they have other choices than what they are experiencing right now? These kids have no moral or emotional support at home and are in desperate need of a mentor. They need somebody to believe in them. They need somebody to love them. They need somebody to teach them. Will you be that somebody? Will I?

TGI Casual Friday

Today while I was visiting the bathroom a lady came in, took a pee, and then left.

She did not wash her hands.

Then while I was trying to finish my business another woman came in and spent what felt like forever applying make up or something to her face (I heard a compact eventually snap shut). Little did they know I was hiding in my little cave stall just wishing for them to go away.

I love Casual Fridays ... the last Friday of every month I get to wear sneakers and jeans to work if that's what I feel like. Seriously though, casual Friday should be about being comfortable, I should be allowed to wear my pj's and slippers. That would be nice, it would make it feel more like I was inputting all this icky data at home.

Justin Timberlake Fan Club

I got home from work last night and my hubby, K said he talked to his friend W. W wanted to know if we were interested in going to the Justin Timberlake/Pink concert. I love them both so of course I said hell yeah!

He says, “OK. But get this! W calls and says we have to first sign up for the Justin Timberlake FAN CLUB which costs $45.00 to join, then we can buy tickets during the fan club members ONLY pre-sale”

I’m like…. Wait a minute… W IS A MEMBER OF THE JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE FAN CLUB? Hahahhaha.

K started laughing too. We were both laughing soooo hard. He said when W called he started the conversation like this, “Dude, before I say anything, I just have to say, Whatever you do, DON’T LAUGH.”

Then he gave him the instructions on how to get the tickets.

Anyways, I don’t know if we’ll do it. We might. It just seems like a lot of money for a concert. Isn’t that funny though? How many GROWN men do YOU know that belong to the Justin Timberlake FAN CLUB?

Bono is, without a doubt, one of the greatest humanitarians of our time. He's one of those rare individuals I like to call a true "rock 'n' role model." But there's a woman I'm sure he holds in high esteem, that started out with much more humble beginnings, and left an immense, enduring legacy that continues to warm the heart of the world, and inspire celebrities like Bono, Oprah, and others to keep doing their best to leave the world a better place than what it was when they entered it. No, she couldn't compete on the runway with any of today's top models, but when it comes to role models, she was, without a doubt, some kinda mutha! Word.

how many people here like to drive really reckless and swerve in and out of lanes? well, if most of you don't know already, i have anxiety, i can't sit in the passenger seat with a person who drives like that. my heart tends to just stop and jump out of my chest. why say these things you ask... well, today i went to santa monica, and i had to be one of the three passengers. you see the driver comes from puerto rico and there he liked to imagine that he was a race car driver. in real life he is an unemployed mechanic, but he still dreams. he made sure to never put a turn signle on when changing lanes, and always push the brakes an inch away from another accident. Oh, and since it's his car it's also his music. i never hated reggeaton so much until i met him. loud gay music, and wrecklessly endangering every body in the car. countless times he would have to light a cigarette and change CDs doing 95mph, and at the same time leaning over to kiss his girlfriend. At the moment i don't think i'll ever be able to drive, but my lifes not over yet so i'll keep you posted. thanks for reading, and until next time... have fun and try not to die.
