The budget from the previous fair time is used for the next fair season. In the past the fair did hire tops acts but lost money on ticket sells. Now the acts are free to the public but Kern County Fair still has to pay for the acts to come. The buget is too small to bring any top acts of today. A few top name country bands play the Fair for the simple fact that Kern County Fair has one of the largest livestock and agriculture shows in the world and people come from all over the world just to attend all of the livestock events our fair offers each year.</p> <p>Plus the added expense of Kern County Fairs ever expanding need to add security since 9-11 has put a huge dent in the Fairs budget. Russell started out by messing around with his personal scooters when he was a teenager. His ideas went from there and he began working with choppers. The reason Exile Cycles is my favorite custom bike builder, is Russell doesn't believe in making them fancy. He builds choppers that are what the true rider wants, a bike that is functional, comfortable and simple. What you see is what you get, unlike other builders who put little pieces of unnecessary items on the bike just to make it stand out. The real riders are the ones that have the simple bikes, the yahoo's have all the bells and whistles. There is a band called the Easy Star All Stars who do an amazing dub reggae adaptation of Pink Floyd called &quot;Dub Side of the Moon&quot; and Radiohead's album &quot;Ok Computer.&quot; Another good must-have is Pepper, which is a reggae/rock band from Hawaii.
