Well, I decided to quit screwing around and trying to cut and paste into this blog site - the format gremlins are just too hard to deal with. I've tried all kinds of bug spray, traps, ... even called the exterminators but nothing has worked. So, anyway, attached is a slightly revised copy of the Bakersfield Jazz Workshop's newsletter for August 12. Come on down to the Nile that night and listen to a great jazz vocalist - Lawanda Smith. She has been one of the regulars in the Open Jam Sessions at the workshop, and has really blossomed in the last several weeks. Now she's the featured act!!! Also attached is a press release for her with more info. Hope to see you all there Tuesday night! Ace
