Today I came home to find the light post in my yard knocked over. The cement block it's set in marks my property line, the only way you can tell which side of the grass between my house and the cottages is mine.
Anyway, the light post is beyond repair. The lantern part snapped off and the glass was gone, except for a few large shards and a bunch of little shards - so much for walking through the grass without shoes on now.
We figure it was hit by the vehicle that was on the grass today which is being used to move one of the cottage dwellers in. My roommate came home and saw it down, she came inside to make a sandwich, the kitchen window overlooks the grass. She saw a white SUV drive up onto the grass - probably the same one to have knocked my light over. Then my daughter came home and said to my roommate "Someone drove into my mom's light post and now they are driving off fast" she said they had nearly hit one of the trees on their way...
