It's the annual time of year we all loathe in Bako:  The heat is back, and the water isn’t getting cool enough. What should you do? Get creative, man! This past weekend was so hot I actually took a trip to Ventura with my girl, Rebekka, for an overnight escape. We hung out, walked about 3 miles on the beach to get a drink, and watched two strange-looking barflies creep people out for an hour at my favorite coastal watering hole, The Bombay.   It was just what the doctor ordered. <<SEE HOMETOWN BOYS 'KORN' IN THE STUDIO! NEW CD ALMOST HERE! Ventura is a nice to place to jet off to on Bako's hottest days. It's only about 90 minutes away, the beaches aren't usually very full, and most importantly… the weather is about 15 degrees cooler than the Central Valley.
