With the new year comes a new listing of the best in local books.  Twice a year Russo's Books, Bakersfield's only locally-owned general bookseller, adds up the sales of books by local authors and/or of local interest from the past six months and presents them as "Bakersfield Bestsellers". At the "head" of the class is none other than Brian "Head" Welch.  The former Korn guitarist's spiritual autobiography "Save Me From Myself" easily outdistanced the competition to land number one on our current list. Two former number ones occupy the second and third slots on Russo's Bakersfield Bestseller's list:  "Angel Girl", the inspirational true story of a young girl stricken with a deadly disease, by Father Craig Harrison and "Friday Night Heroes", the history of BHS Driller football's first 100 years, by Rick Van Horne.
