Greetings, Bakotopians! We are Straw Dog, masters of our own doggy destinies and crafters of our own diverse mix of music.

Two of us, Mark Bazzini and Jim Robinson, are members of AKA, the local group that boldly goes where no Bakersfield bar band has gone before. On lead guitar we've got David Fry, a citizen of the Land of LA, located somewhere over the mountains south of here. We love him even if he is a bank executive. (Who'd a thunk that a guy with a VP after his name could rock out like he does? Too skeery.) And our percussionist is Louis Gillham, a Bako high school teacher. (We call him the Hit Man - not just because he bangs the drum, but because he teaches English to teenagers. This guy isn't scared of anything.)

As to our music - well, we'll let our listeners draw their own conclusions. The selection of tunes currently featured on this site are extractions from seven of our original songs that we performed live at Kulak's Woodshed back in June of '06. While not the studio versions that we're currently working on, we felt that the performances were good enough to share.Please take a listen, and let us know what you think. We'd really appreciate your input.
