My name is Aura  (A.K.A. Jade) I am a mother of two. I currently teach the art of belly dance at  "Bahiyya Almas Dance Studio", I am co-owner of the studio  and have taught outside the studio in other locations such as Silver Creek through parks and recreation, Spot light theatre, All Star Dance Academy,  LQ performing Arts studios.  I have eperienced many dance styles such as merengue, punta, soca, cumbia, salsa,hip-hop, ballet, tap, and folk dance. 

A little bit on what I do as a belly dancer:    I have been belly dancing for twelve years now, I have been teaching for  six.  I studied under Tilana whom brought belly dance entertaiment to all of  Bakersfield  for 30+ years and was know in the belly dance world for her creativity in dance and originality. She was a great inspiration to all who knew her and danced through her battle with ovarian cancer! She will always be remembered!   

Taken workshops from: Jillina, Urban Tribal, Jill Parker, Mira, Sashi, Amy Sigil, David of Scandanavia, Patricia, Elizabeth Strong, Naby Bangoura, Antonea Leftheriotis, Mathew Guerrero, Carola, Vicki Virk, and Dandara.  I have taught and choreographed numerous classes for our performing troupe.  I have performed in many shows, fund raisers, weddings, birthday parties, at our local street fair, nightclubs, country clubs, Kern County Fair, Relay 4 Life, Aids Walk, Pride, Diabetes walk, Heart walk, Alternative Prom, resorts and local news programs.  I have conducted dance workshops for colleges, sororities, high schools and juvenile hall.  Performed at health fairs and distributed information  regarding how dance improves one's overall health and self-esteem. I danced with the local troupe "Soul of the East" , under the instruction of Tilana.  A student  Under her from 1997-2003.  My goal is to pass on what I have learned in my years of dancing and spread the joy and freedom that dance has given me.
