About "El Patrio"

LIKHY2 SPANISH ROCK DESMADRE!!!

LIKHY2 (pronounced LEAKY DOSE) IS AN ALTERNATIVE "SPANISH" ROCK BAND WITH A SONG OR TWO WITH SKA, REGGAE, PUNK, HIP-HOP, AND METAL INFLUENCES...

“…this is the end…my only friend, The End…”

I am saddened to report that Bakotopia Land’s premier Spanish Rock band, LIKHY2, has called it quits after nine years on the local “underground“ rokero scene. We had our time in the sun, but it’s all over now. Our Latin percussionist, Jorge Urbina, has joined VELORIO. As for the rest of the band, well, they are basking on the edges of local fame. Taking each day as it comes their way.

So here I stand…with all of my reality at your hands.

My name is Salvador Plascencia, and I was LIKHY2’s manager during the 21st century. I am a 33-year old graduate student at Point Loma University where I am studying to receive a Special Education Teaching Credential. I graduated from Cal State, Bakersfield many semesters ago with a History degree. I am a 6th grade RSP teacher and a self-proclaimed Socialist and an active social activist. I have never married and I don’t have any children.

Well, if you want to know more, just “ask me, ask me, ask me…I won’t say now…how could I.”-the smiths

Hi Sal! I can answer any questions you have, I'm the Marketing Director for the theatre. I'll just briefly outline some of your options... Plays: TES has at least two "Pitch Days" per year in which all members of the community are invited to submit proposals for plays for the upcoming season. Some people just suggest plays they want to see performed, some come with fully prepared directing proposals, some submit original ideas or projects they would like to organize, and so on. We have open auditions constantly, and everyone is welcome to try out for shows. As far as art exhibits go, I can refer you to our Executive Director (and Gallery Curator) Guinevere. She's the one who oversees the Gallery each month, and she tends to plan the exhibits somewhat far in advance, but if you have some ideas/suggestions or want to have your work displayed, definitely hit her up for more info. We always have "open houses" for the new exhibits, which often include live music and/or poetry as well. There are tons of other chances to perform live music or poetry at the theatre (for fundraisers, fairs, music festivals, before plays, etc.) This is just the basic info, but if you want more details feel free to message me :)
