You are completely right, and I am aware of this. I brought up the middle east thing mostly because the associations people make are with the Middle East. But in the midst of my editing of things, I realized that I actually nixed key parts where I talk about the origins in India. Again though, I agree that I didn't make the distinction clear. The conclusion is especially misleading. I need to avoid doing my own editing while I am spiking a fever.

Great to hear! It was Matt's idea to print the article, and I was thrilled to get the chance to tell people about Caetano, where they otherwise would probably have never heard about him. The medley of which you speak was released on his 1986 acoustic album, which was recorded with the idea of making him accessible to the North American market, obviously with limited success. From all of his stages of writing, there are some real gems, and some that don't quite measure up. But what you see with his body of work is a constant effort to grow and reinvent, even to this day. And the beauty is that he always finds a way to make it work. All 3 of his DVD's are superb, too. Thanks for the comment. Chris
