About The Sharp Ease
How does the Sharp Ease feel? Radical and spiritual in a fuzzed out way.
“They exude an inimitable gritty glamour and are non-stop, kind of like their native city of Los Angeles. The Sharp Ease... are pure energy.” -churchofgirl.com
The Sharp Ease have a new Vinyl EP, Remain Instant, released August 22nd 2006 by LA’s own olFactory Records, and recorded by Rod Cervera (Lavendar Diamond, Young People, Polar Goldie Cats). All songs were written by The Sharp Ease and Rod Cervera.
This album shows how much their sound has matured comfortably into their melodies and melodrama. Leaving behind their playful tongue in cheek water testing, you get the sense that they've survived the war, that they've graduated from R & R university. These songs display an amount of gritty, euphoric intellect that capture the mind and spirit.
They were nominated for Best New Artist in 2003 by the LA Weekly Music Awards. Their debut full-length, Going Modern, was released in February 2005 on olFactory/ Soft Spot Records. In addition they were chosen as Homegrown Artist of the Month by Amoeba Music L.A. March 2005.
They have played Ladyfest Los Angeles, ROCKRGRL Music Conference Seattle, and have been featured in Venus, Arthur, LA Weekly, OC Weekly, Exclaim! (Canada), Filter and more.
