Hooverville Rounders & Ridge Route Romeos @ Tehachapi Mtn. Festival

Get out of the heat this Saturday afternoon (8/16) and come out to the Tehachapi Mountain Festival! At 2pm, the Hooverville Rounders take the gazebo stage in Central Park for some "Bakersfield Blues-Grass", followed by American Roots Rock from the Ridge Route Romeos. Food, vendors, great music, car show, fun for the family...see ya there!

The play is set in Philadephia IN THE MID 1960'S.

THERE IS A CAST OF 12 (6 MEN, 6 WOMEN) RANGING IN AGE FROM EARLY 20'S TO LATE 50'S (3 DANCERS IN THEIR MID TO LATE 20'S ARE AMONG THE CAST AND PLAY GO-GO DANCERS.

Bakersfield Communty Theatre Playhouse will conduct open auditions for David Rabe's Tony Award nominated drama

IN THE BOOM BOOM ROOM.

The surreal drama focuses on Chrissy, a used and abused Go-Go dancer trying to find her identity, a career and love on Philadephia's mean streets of the mid 1960's. The drama is for mature audiences and features an ensemble cast of 12, including 3 dancers who are also characters in the play. Also being sought is a choreographer who is familiar with the go-go dances of that period, The Mashed Potato, The Pony, The Jerk, The swim, The Frug, the Monkey, etc.

There are roles for six women and six men ranging in age from mid 20's to late 50's .

Audition dates: Sunday Aug. 17th 5-7 PM, Saturday

Aug. 23rd 12-3 PM and Monday Aug. 25th 6-8 PM

Bakersfield Community Theatre Playhouse presents Neil Simon's "Plaza Suite!"

Bakersfield Community Theatre Playhouse invites you to the first show of our 82^nd season, Neil Simon’s “Plaza Suite!” The show dates are: September 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20 at 8 p.m. and September 14 and 21 at 2 p.m. For the 8 p.m. showing the doors will be open at 7:30, and for the 2 p.m. matinees they will open at 1:30. Adult prices are $12. Students, seniors, and active military are $10. Delicious all-beef hot dogs, chips, candy, and refreshments will be sold as well. Reservations are strongly recommended, so please call the theatre at (661) 831-8114 and save yourself a seat!
